James C. Stewart

The founding Partner in our firm, Jim is a 1965 graduate of Clemson University and has a wide range of architectural design experience. His design and construction expertise is varied, including everything from small commercial renovations to multi-million dollar government complexes. Mr. Stewart is the Principal in Charge of our Governmental, Judicial and Law Enforcement projects. He is actively involved in a variety of associations that keep him informed on how our clients' world is changing. Ren is a 5th generation General Contractor, with over 27 years of hands on experience in a family-owned commercial construction business. Ren has an integral role in the successful completion of all Stewart-Cooper-Newell Architects projects. As a construction administrator, he coordinates with the project owner, Principal-in-Charge and General Contractor to ensure projects are built to the full accuracy, completeness and quality shown on the drawings. In addition to shop drawing review and RFI responses inside the office, Ren provides on-site construction inspections, monthly coordination meetings, final inspections and field coordination. Shane's career in the AEC industry began in the building material sales/supply and construction fields. He has been providing design services since 1997 and has most recently practiced architecture in the technically demanding environs of Alaska and Wyoming where he completed numerous projects in the emergency services, aviation, medical, civic, primary and higher education sectors. Shane is a keen listener and one of the most detail oriented people you will ever meet. As a conduit and disseminator of information, he is a superb facilitator of service to his clients and an excellent manager of highly collaborative teams.
