Alexis McBrayer, Ph.D. - COO, Clinical Laboratory Director and Technical Supervisor Alexis is an experienced laboratory director with a demonstrated history working in the biotechnology industry, physician owned laboratories, hospital laboratories, and independent reference laboratories. She is skilled in LCMS, Clinical Laboratory Practices and Regulations, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Vaccines, Database Administration, and Molecular Biology. Dr. McBrayer received her undergraduate degree from Sarah Lawrence College and both her MBA and PhD in Physiology and Biophysics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has her board certification in Toxicological Chemistry from the National Registry of Certified Chemists. The Birmingham Business Journal listed her in 2018 as one of Birmingham's 40 under 40. Mary is an exceptionally gifted scientist and an artist when it comes to chromatography and LCMS applications. She has applied this talent to the clinical laboratory setting and specializes in toxicology. She has primarily worked with applications of LC/MS/MS technology in the clinical laboratory as it pertains to toxicological testing, quantitation of biomarkers, and determination of drugs and their metabolites in biological matrices. Dr. Long received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry and her doctorate in Pharmacology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has pioneered numerous toxicology programs at hospitals, universities, and free standing reference labs.
