Job Titles:
- Solicitor
- Child Care Solicitor
Alex is an experienced care solicitor with over 10 years experience working in city centre firms.
She is a member of the Children Panel and works with a wide range of clients, from parents to children's guardians.
Alex is acutely aware that she is working with clients at a highly emotional time in their lives and sees part of her role as steering them through the process in a calm and professional manner.
I enjoy working in a role where I can help people. It's such an important area as people's children mean so much to them and they want a solicitor who they can trust and feel like they are being listened to which I think that I do. I think I am compassionate and approachable.
I like that every day is different and no case is the same. The best part is seeing children go home and also ensuring children are safeguarded and get better outcomes for their future.
Alison is a very experienced part of our support team. She works across both our busy Family Law team and Private Client department, liaising with clients and working with the teams on their cases.
She has over 20 years of experience in family law and worked for 12 years working for Sarah Dixon and Co, before joining Pearson Solicitors. Alison has previous medical negligence experience for solicitors working on behalf of the General Medical Council and has a keen eye for details.
In her spare time, she is attempting to learn Turkish and she likes exploring different areas of Turkey as well as cooking local cuisine.
Allison works as a Legal Assistant in the Child Care department, dealing with clients, guardians and other solicitors and providing support to fee earners, preparing Legal Aid applications and Legal Aid bills.
With 15 years' service under her belt, Allison's aims and goals at Pearson are to continue to consistently provide a high level of service to clients with support and understanding in what is often an upsetting and challenging time for them.
Allison previously worked for an engineering company, managing their British Standard Quality System.
In her spare time, Allison enjoys city breaks and holidays with friends, spending time with her children and grandchildren of which she has three aged 17, 7 and 3.
Amanda is a Legal Secretary based in the Corporate and Commercial department in our North Manchester office at Hollinwood, and has been with the firm for two years.
She has many years' experience of working for both medium size and large firms of solicitors in Manchester. It was during her fourteen years stint as a Legal Secretary in Corporate and Commercial that she previously worked for one of our partners Keith Kennedy, Head of our Corporate and Commercial department. Immediately prior to joining Pearson Solicitors and Financial Advisers Amanda held a Document Production Specialist role.
She enjoys Corporate and Commercial work and likes getting her teeth stuck into amending long and complex documents. Her role allows her to undertake tasks outside a typical secretarial role and her experience means she can draft short corporate documents and compile disclosure bundles.
Amanda loves getting to know our clients and enjoys the pressure that comes with working towards a completion deadline.
Outside of work she enjoys reading, holidays and interior design. Living in an older property she always has a project on the go and dedicates a lot of her spare time to renovating her home which is her pride and joy.
Job Titles:
- Member of Our Employment Law Department
- Paralegal in Employment Law
Amber is a member of our employment law department and is one of the many young lawyers looking to start their careers with Pearson.
A first class graduate in law from the Manchester Metropolitan University she is currently studying for her LLM Legal Practise course. It is her intention to sit the SQE exams and qualify as a solicitor once she has gained the qualifying work experience.
Her previous role as a family engagement worker at a Category-C men's prison for four years, supporting the families of prisoners, has given her a thorough grounding of operating in a stressful environment and working with a wide variety of people - a great basis for a career in the law.
My undergraduate dissertation critically reviewed the Sexual Offences Act 2003 and potential factors affecting rape convictions in England and Wales. In addition my project as part of my Masters looked into the current issue of overcrowding in prisons and the rehabilitation of prisoners and I really do feel that this breadth of knowledge and the work I have undertaken is a great foundation for my future career.
