Research Technology Services (RTS) provides university-wide support for research compliance. The systems that RTS supports are critical to USC's research enterprise. The group began with the creation of the iStar IRB system in 2005 and was originally managed out of the IRB office. Since then, more systems have been added and the management of the group moved from the IRB to the Office of Research. There are now six systems managed by RTS, encompassing virtually all research at USC. In addition to the IRB system, RTS systems include: Animal Use (IACUC) since 2012; Conflicts of Interest (diSClose) since 2012; Biosafety (IBC) since 2013; and Radiation Safety (RSC) since 2014. A new system, Animal Operations, went live in 2022.
