Allen P. Davis is Professor and Charles A. Irish Sr. Chair in Civil Engineering in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Affiliate Professor in Plant Science and Landscape Architecture at the University of Maryland. For three decades, he has been investigating sources and treatment of pollutants in urban stormwater with a focus on nature-based practices, particularly bioretention.
He is author or co-author of over 140 peer-reviewed journal articles, and two texts: Stormwater Management for Smart Growth (2005) and Green Stormwater Infrastructure, Fundamentals and Design, Wiley 2022). From 2001 to 2010, he was Director of the Maryland Water Resources Research Center. He is currently Editor-in-Chief of the ASCE Journal of Sustainable Water in the Built Environment. From 2017-2019 he chaired a National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine committee on Improving the Next-Generation EPA Multi-Sector General Permit for Industrial Stormwater Discharges. In 2010 he was awarded the A. James Clark School of Engineering Faculty Outstanding Research Award recognizing exceptionally influential research accomplishments related to urban stormwater quality, its management, and the concept of Low Impact Development.
Prof. Davis is a 2022-2023 University of Maryland Distinguished Scholar-Teacher, an award that honors senior tenured members of the faculty who combine outstanding scholarly accomplishment with excellence in teaching and personify the University of Maryland image of the professoriate. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Maryland, Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Fellow of the ASCE Environmental and Water Resources Institute, and a Diplomate, Water Resources Engineer.

Dr. Rachel Rosenberg Goldstein is an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland's School of Public Health in the Maryland Institute for Applied Environmental Health. She also directs the WOW (Water quality, Outreach, and Wellness) Lab where her research focuses on improving water quality through community-engaged research and outreach.
Her current projects include evaluating the microbial safety of harvested rainwater for produce irrigation, on-farm well water quality, determining the risk of exposure to pathogens and antibiotic-resistant bacteria from sanitary sewer overflows, and health risks from septic failures caused by sea-level rise. She is the co-project director of Extension and Outreach for CONSERVE: A Center of Excellence at the Nexus of Sustainable Water Reuse, Food, and Health. She received a PhD in Toxicology and Environmental Health and an MPH in Environmental Health from the University of Maryland, as well as a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

Dr. Rianna Murray is an Assistant Research Professor at the Maryland Institute for Applied Environmental Health. She is a co-PI of the Global FEWture Alliance, and is co-leading the initiatives of the Education FEWture subgroup. She is also working with the Maryland FEWture subgroup on Maryland-based projects of the Alliance.
Dr. Murray is the PI of a another recently-funded UMD Grand Challenges project, the Maryland Safe Drinking WATER Study. She is also the Director of Graduate Studies for the Environmental Health Sciences programs at the University of Maryland School of Public Health. She earned a BSc with a double major in biochemistry and chemistry from the University of the West Indies in Trinidad & Tobago, and a Master of Public Health and Ph.D. in Environmental Health Sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Dr. Shirley Micallef is a Professor in microbial ecology and safety of fruit and vegetables at the University of Maryland in College Park. Her work on food safety focuses on human pathogen-plant interactions using Salmonella-tomato and E. coli O157:H7-lettuce systems.

Tomer Malchi is the co-founder and the Executive Director of CultivAid. He holds a Ph.D. from the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment of the Hebrew University, where he also completed a bachelor's and master's degree. Tomer also holds a degree in industrial labor relations from Cornell University.
Tomer was born in Israel and grew up near New York City. Since the age of 18, Tomer has been involved in a spectrum of volunteer, activism and development work ranging from community organizing to workplace organizing to environmental activism and international development.
Tomer's perspective and motivation is based on developing pragmatic approaches for global impact, leadership development, and a personal connection. He stresses personal responsibility, market development, and infrastructural development as key instruments of improving social conditions and economies. There is no magic bullet to solve the world's problems, but through diligence, data driven solutions, and collaborations we can solve the challenges in front of us.
