Andy Thompson

Andy Thompson is accountable for Hermosa project delivery, including studies, construction and execution, health and safety, and tailings management. With nearly two decades of experience in the mining sector, primarily at Barrick Gold, he brings international capital project experience developing greenfield underground mines and serving in leadership roles on brownfields expansions and recapitalizations.

Brent Musslewhite

Brent Musslewhite is an expert in U.S. mine permitting, feasibility studies, due diligence, mine reclamation/remediation, and closure. A former Manager of Legacy Assets and Manager of Environmental Services for BHP in both Arizona and New Mexico, he now directs the environmental and permitting team for the Hermosa project, leading on complex environmental permitting and studies, regulatory compliance, and relationship management with regulatory stakeholders at both the state and federal level.

Bryant Munoz

Job Titles:
  • Human Resources Business Partner
As Hermosa's Human Resources Business Partner, a typical day for Bryant Munoz involves working with Hermosa's leadership and providing guidance on job descriptions, progression planning, exit interviews, promotion and offer approvals, and employee issues. He also represents South32 at events such as the recent Me+ Medical & Engineering Job Expo at the Tucson Convention Center. "As Hermosa grows, we need to fill roles so we're often out in the community and at events telling everyone about us and the opportunities we can offer." With a recruiting background in numerous industries such as information technology, utility and construction, Bryant started at South32 as a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist in 2023 and within seven months, he got the opportunity to be an HR Business Partner, to help develop new skills & his career. "I would say that there has been a huge learning curve for me in this position, it has created discomfort, since there have been moments where I don't know the answers to questions on the spot and I've had to stretch myself to find solutions and answers. However, it is a good discomfort that has been challenging me to learn something new every day. I have great support from my leadership and team, in growing and gaining more human resource knowledge." To someone wanting to join the mining industry, Bryant advises, "first and foremost apply to a position, it could be outside or inside of your skillset. You really don't know what the hiring manager and the team is searching for in a new candidate. It could very possibly be skillset, or it could be personality. The important thing is to be excited about the role and show that you have done research on the company. Mining companies are willing to teach new employees develop new skillsets. I studied Criminal Justice at Bethune-Cookman University and went into an industry I never imagined working in." Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Bryant enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys. Specifically grilling out in his backyard and smoking different types of meats. He also enjoys playing softball and learning about finances.

Jenna Tan

Jenna Tan leads the finance and valuations team at the Hermosa project. She previously held senior roles in finance, business analysis, corporate development, strategy and performance for global mining majors including BHP, Peabody Energy, and Vale, where she had oversight of operations and projects in Australia, China, and Mozambique. Most recently, she served as the Manager of Strategy and Performance for South32 Group in Perth, Australia.

Judy Brown

Judy Brown has oversight of external affairs for South32's assets across the Americas, including and particularly the Hermosa project. She is an established and highly sought-after strategic government and community affairs expert, accomplished in managing complex international, national, and local issues of policy and reputation. Prior to joining South32, she served in multiple chief external affairs roles for Rio Tinto, most recently as Chief Adviser, External Affairs, in Latin America and the Asia Pacific region.

Pat Risner

Pat Risner is an industry expert in complex mine project planning and development. He has held executive roles across the United States and Australia including Group Health Safety Environmental Officer for BHP, formerly BHP Billiton, where he had direct accountability to the company's sustainability committee of the board of directors. As a seasoned leader, Pat brings a wealth of knowledge regarding sustainability, long-term economic development through mining, communities, and Tribal relations to the Hermosa project. He holds a degree in Mining Engineering from Missouri University.

Todd Gwillim

Job Titles:

Todd Gwillim joined South32 soon after acquisition of Hermosa as the company's first in-house legal counsel in North America and currently manages all legal matters in this jurisdiction. With over 22 years delivering commercial and regulatory legal counsel to large multinational corporations, he has extensive success leading diverse legal teams to support a wide range of functions including manufacturing, logistics, energy, mining, and product development. Prior to joining South32, he worked for 19 years within the global legal function at Caterpillar Inc. in the US and in Asia.

Tracy Orton
