As one of our Senior Project Managers, Andrew Dunk brings over 20 years of experience in the flooring industry, with a strong technical background.

Andrew joined our team in 2019 with an extensive background in sales & project management. With this knowledge & experience, Andrew has become dedicated to a customer-first approach; he keeps the client at the centre of all that he does. He has a passion to learn & truly understand the needs of each relationship to deliver a productive & valued result. Andrew is committed to the team here at Sands and is excited to grow within the commercial flooring industry.
Bryan joined Sands in September 2015. He graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Sociology. He joined the flooring covering industry in Halifax as a residential sales rep, before moving back to Toronto and working as a territory sales rep for a ceramic tile distributor. Bryan brings a creative and professional perspective to a variety of projects. With his drive to understand the commercial flooring industry and ability to work with people, he hopes to be a valuable member of the Sands team
Christine has been a part of the Sands team since 1998. With over 20 years of accounting experience, she is responsible for the financial reporting, oversight of payables and receivables, cash management, budgeting and forecasting. Christine also manages Human Resources and IT. Education includes Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified General Accountant Designation, Honours Bachelor of Commerce and HRPA Human Resources Certificate.
Dave has been a Senior Project Manager at Sands for the last 12 years with a total of 25 years experience in the flooring industry. Has experience in all areas of the commercial flooring business including Sales, Project Management, Estimating and Production Management.
Dave takes pride in doing most of his business with established clients that he has fostered long term relationships with based on years of outstanding customer service and flooring knowledge. He graduated from Northwood University in Midland, Michigan.
He has a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with majors in Marketing and Management and minors in Economics and Accounting.
David a specialist in commercial floor coverings, is focused on corporate sales and tenant improvement. David has been in the flooring industry for over 30 years, Partner at Sands since 2003. David prides himself on building long-term relationships and keeping clients continually informed of new flooring advancements and environmental technologies.
Engin is a recent addition to the Sands' team, starting in late May of 2014. He graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Commerce (B. Comm.) degree in 2010, majoring in Accounting, with a minor in Law. Other disciplines that appealed to him include Finance and Psychology. He has a background in information technology, over 3 years of estimating and 15 years of installation experience. He gained exposure to the flooring industry through his father, who is a flooring installer and taught him most of what he knows about flooring installations. He started off as an assistant installer and eventually moved into the corporate side of the business as an estimator upon completing his undergraduate degree. With his hands on knowledge and accounting background, estimating appealed to him as it relates to the mathematical side of his studies and incorporates what he has physically done most of his life. Among his responsibilities is to obtain drawings and specifications, provide material estimates, details and other information for the sales team, and clarify and address any issues found.
Fred has an extensive career in the construction industry along with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture. Fred has also completed the Engineering Certificate at Seneca College and The Project Management Certificate at Centennial College.

Heather joined Sands Commercial Floor Coverings in 2013 as a Sales Coordinator working directly with Peter Sands, Partner. Heather brings with her knowledge of project management and is the primary support for the implementation and execution of flooring projects for a major client.
Prior to joining Sands, Heather was the logistics manager and operations support for a large salon & spa company operating in Canada and the US.
Holly joined the Sands Team in November of 2005 as a Sales Assistant to David Breen. She brings to Sands her 20+ years of flooring experience working in many facets of the industry. Holly is also the Chair of our Joint Health and Safety Committee.
Ian assists with the synchronization of Sands shipping and receiving requirements. Ian is a recent graduate from Centennial College's Electrical Engineering Technician program.
Humber College student specializing in business and sales with 4 years of sales experience, and 5 years of managing / coordinating experience.
Kevin joined the Sands team in early 2012. With over 40 years of experience in both retail and commercial flooring Kevin is able to identify his client's needs and provide viable solutions for them. Kevin prides himself on building long-tern relationships. He has several customers that he has worked with for more than 30 years. Being a Past President of The Durham Construction Association has given Kevin intimate knowledge of the construction industry and how it relates to and affects the flooring industry.
As the Operations Coordinator, Maria assists with coordinating the material logistics and scheduling labour. She is responsible for all administrative aspects of both the Warehouse and Operations Department. She ensures all sub-contractors are up to date with their WSIB, Insurance and safety training requirements. Maria has over 25 years of administrative experience included in this is 15 years of WSIB (WCB) experience along with Health & Safety knowledge and a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee and assists with maintaining the company's safety program.
Melanie Thompson is a Senior Project Manager with nearly 20 years of experience in managing all aspects of commercial, institutional and healthcare renovation and new construction projects for clients including Ontario Power Generation, Rogers, St. Michael's Hospital, Mt. Sinai Hospital, Sherbourne Health Centre and other clients throughout Ontario as well as being a member of the design team for the new McGill University Health Centre recently constructed in Montreal under the P3 method of project delivery.
Prior to joining Sands, Melanie worked with clients to establish schedules, projects and finishes specifications for her clients and brings an understanding of performance requirements to her projects. This experience provides valuable insight to Sands' clients today.
As one of our Sales Coordinators, Michelle provides administrative support for several Senior Project Managers here at Sands Commercial.
Having been previously employed with one of the industry's largest contract residential flooring companies, Michelle brings a wide knowledge of flooring products, project tendering and management.

With a background in interior design and over 30 years in the flooring industry working for the manufacturers, Patricia runs the maintenance division. Her background brings Sands' unique view of respecting the recommendations of the flooring manufactures so that your products will last longer and your warranties will not be voided.
She is a strong supporter of creating a proactive maintenance program to protect your new flooring investment, and is happy to sit down with you to create a custom maintenance program for your commercial environment.
As a member of the Sands Sales Team since 1997, Paul contributes a wealth of experience in the specification and installation of commercial flooring.
Having given a great opportunity to join a family business, was truly a dream come true. Joining Sands in 1976, I had the opportunity to watch my father Gord, make his mark on the flooring industry. Gord's philosophy was very simple: look after your customers, be honest and strive for improvement. Changing from a carpet distributor to a full commercial flooring company was not an easy task, but with the right people believing in the same philosophy, it helped make it easier. I soon realized that business was built around people and not floor covering. We have made many changes since I joined some 38 years ago, and I am sure there are many more to come. Waking up every day and going to work is what I like to do.
