Being a good neighbor is the THEA Way. Much like our neighborhood-first approach to the Selmon Extension project, THEA respects community input and listens to resident concerns. Our commitment to constructing sound walls along the entire portion of the South Selmon Expressway is in response to community input, they were not required by federal guidelines. We are also advertising a $5 million bonus in our RFP for the contractor to install the walls before major construction begins... As a result of our collective efforts, we want to share an important update with you. The project is focused on adding a lane in each direction within the existing median and minimizing widening to the outside of the current lanes, which will reduce project costs and shorten the construction period. This change will significantly improve daily commutes and enhance safety and the quality of life for our motorists and neighbors.
