The Congolese community in the Goulburn Valley begun when the first two humanitarian entrant families arrived in Shepparton on the 20th of October 2005. Then many other families arrived at the different times. We are approximately 100 families. The Congolese families are considerably large and average six people in each family. The Goulburn Valley Congolese community is also quite diverse and an interpreter may be required even for a meeting within the same community...
