Evelyn C. Lewis

Evelyn Christopher Lewis, M.D., is a native of Sierra Leone. He joined Southwest Atlanta Nephrology in 2010. Dr. Lewis completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at Tuskegee University, graduating with Bachelor's and Master's of Science degrees in Biology in 1996 and 2000, respectively. After completing his medical training at the University of Kentucky in 2004, he proceeded to University of South Carolina/Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina for training in Internal Medicine. In 2007, Dr. Lewis moved to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston for Nephrology Fellowship under a T32 Training Grant from the National Institute of Health. Dr. Lewis' areas of clinical interest include patient education, management of hypertension, electrolyte disorders and peritoneal dialysis.

Michel D. Brathwaite

Michel D. Brathwaite, MD, is a native of London, England, who graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and received his Medical Degree from Temple University School of Medicine. Dr. Brathwaite has served as Section Chief of Nephrology at the WellStar Atlanta Medical Center since 2001 and as Medical Director for the East Point and Linden (Home) DaVita dialysis centers since 2012. His passion for teaching has kept him at Morehouse School of Medicine for the past 26 years as an adjunct clinical assistant professor and as a volunteer teacher at Atlanta Medical Center and Emory Family Practice. Over the years, he has received awards for his outstanding service as a nephrologist as well as for his prowess as a teacher of aspiring nephrologists. Dr. Brathwaite lives in Atlanta with his wife and two sons.

Sammy M. Mugambi

Sammy M. Mugambi, M.D., is a native of Nairobi, Kenya who graduated and received his Medical Degree from the University of Nairobi, College of Health and Sciences. Dr. Mugambi completed his internal medicine residency at Drexel University/MCP Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, PA. He subsequently joined the division of hospital medicine at Emory Healthcare, where he also served as an instructor at The Emory School of Medicine. He completed a nephrology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina prior to joining Southwest Atlanta Nephrology. He is double board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. In 2010, he published a study called Bacteremia, Sepsis and Peritonitis with Pasteurella Multocida in a Peritoneal Dialysis Patient.

William H. Cleveland

William H. Cleveland is a physician specializing in nephrology. He currently serves as a Clinical Nephrologist on the medical staff of seven Atlanta hospitals and Medical Director for two Atlanta-area dialysis centers. Dr. Cleveland is President of Southwest Atlanta Nephrology, PC and Nephronet, LLC and is a past president of the Crawford Long Hospital Medical Staff. Previously, Dr. Cleveland served on the Georgia Health Sciences University Board as well as on the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. In 1999, he was honored by the International Olympic Commission with a Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Cleveland earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Morehouse College and doctor of medicine degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He enjoys music, reading, and experimenting with new techno gadgets. He resides in Atlanta with his family.
