The Southern Grind at the Wharf was established in 2012. Jimmy McPhillips always dreamed of owning a restaurant and Orange Beach needed a Coffee House, with the help of Jimmy's sister Carol The Southern Grind was created. Jimmy's wife, Jaime brought that vision to life with her Interior Design skills and together Jimmy and Jaime filled the walls with art they created together. Family recipes, homemade pastries, and really fresh ingredients are just part of their success. They also offer Gelato, wifi, and a court yard making them more than a Coffee House. In 2017, The Southern Grind opened its second location with Hotel Indigo in Orange Beach, sharing similar visions to create a unique atmosphere that featured local flavor where locals and visitors could gather together.
