Michael Head started as the Chief Financial Officer in 2017 and is now President and Business Partner at Maximus Building Supply. Michael started his career in public accounting with BDO Seidman in 1992 with an emphasis on small to medium sized audit clients. Since leaving public accounting, Michael has had the privilege to work with some of the best service-oriented Memphis based companies to include Oak Hall, Lenny's Sub Shop, CBIZ and Thompson Dunavant. Michael's previous position prior to Maximus was Corporate Controller at Binswanger Glass. Michael is retired after 20 years of service as a Field Artillery Officer in the Mississippi Army National Guard.
Throughout his career, Michael has been instrumental in evaluating business operations to improve and streamline processes. Michael is focused on coordinating and overseeing operations at Maximus Building Supply ensuring the development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet the current and future needs of the company.
Michael has been married to his wife, Paula, since 1989. Paula is the Senior Director of Patient Family Outreach for ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. He is the proud father to three amazing children, Chandler, Cameron, and Carson. Chandler is a business development strategist for Speak Creative, serves on the St. George's Independent School Board of Trustees and lives in Memphis with her husband Wil Barton, and their daughter Margaret Elizabeth. Cameron is an assistant superintendent with RKA Construction and an Armor Officer in the Mississippi Army National Guard. Michael and Paula's youngest daughter Carson was diagnosed with osteosarcoma the day before her eighth birthday and lost her battle far too young at nine years and three months. Michael and his family founded, Team Carson Elizabeth in memory of his daughter Carson in support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Since 2014, Team Carson Elizabeth has raised over $1,000,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Richard Cooper, a lifelong Memphian with more than 25 years of building industry experience has taken over as the owner of Maximus Building Supply after Mark Evans retired in 2021.
To say Richard Cooper is hard-working is an understatement - Richard is full of energy and passion. He is focused on being the best in everything he does. Early in his career, Richard worked in the automotive industry, where he became the youngest manager in the nation for Firestone.
In 1997, looking for a change, Richard got into the building business. He understands the construction process and the importance of timely and accurate supply delivery. Richard Cooper is unique in his attention to detail and the ability to listen and understand a customer's needs. His problem-solving skills combined with his vast knowledge has allowed him and the company to excel in the building industry. He is a visionary in the market and has created an excellent system to benefit the customers and the employees.
Richard's dedication to customer service throughout the years has allowed him to maintain the largest volume and tenured accounts in the market. He believes "when you provide excellent service, the sales will follow".
Richard has been married to his wife, Amee, since 1990 and they have two sons who are both married. Austin and Katie are the proud parents of their granddaughter Hannah, and both serve in the military. Austin is in the Army and Katie is a Captain in the United States Marine Corps. Hunter and Ann are newly married and are both working in the building industry. Hunter is Outside Sales at Maximus Building Supply. Ann is Director of Marketing with RKA Construction. Richard, Austin and Hunter all graduated from Evangelical Christian School (ECS). Richard and Amee are active members of Crossroads Baptist Church.
Steve Martin comes to Maximus Building Supply as a Minority Owner and Business Partner with 35 years of Finance and Accounting experience, and over 20 years serving as CFO for businesses in various industries, including consumer and business services, industrial distribution, and claims management. Steve began his career with 15 years at Arthur Andersen, progressing to Audit Partner before leaving public accounting in 1999. He served as CFO for the nation's largest lawn care and landscaping company, TruGreen, from 2000 to 2007, its parent The ServiceMaster Company from 2007 to 2011, heavy duty truck parts distributor TruckPro, LLC from 2012 to 2021 and insurance claims management firm Alacrity Solutions from 2021 to 2022. As CFO, Steve built a reputation for transforming finance and accounting organizations and partnering with CEOs and management teams to deliver shareholder value. Steve is now a minority investor, business partner and independent consultant.
Steve was recognized by the Memphis Business Journal as one of the leading CFO's in Memphis in 2014 and 2018 and has served as guest speaker at numerous roundtable events in the Memphis business community. Steve is also a member of the Advisory Board for the University of Memphis School of Accounting and is a past Board member and Treasurer for Metropolitan Interfaith Association.
Steve has been married to his wife, Chris, for 37 years and has 3 grown children and one grandchild. Their oldest daughter, McKensie Worley, works in corporate strategy and lives in Tuscaloosa, AL, with her husband, Dustin, and their son, Cohen. Cooper lives in Ft. Walton Beach, FL and works in the restaurant industry, and Molly is a coach and teacher at Evangelical Christian School in Memphis.
