Ether is the fuel for the Ethereum network, but what are all these other crypto tokens, and what do they do? Well, tokens are other crypto assets on the network, and they have various uses. Some are used for voting. Some track the value of other assets, like the US dollar or Bitcoin. Others represent the ownership of an asset, like an NFT (non-fungible token)... In the real world, nothing moves anywhere without energy. The same is true for Ethereum. Ether is the fuel for the network, and that's why network costs are called gas fees... Crypto prices are volatile in the sense that they can explode to the upside or blow up your life savings. Since its launch, ETH has made millionaires and billionaires - and broken more than a few hearts (and wallets) as well.
