ALTERNATIVES TO VIOLENCE PROJECT

Our mission is to create more peacemakers to build a peaceful, just, positive, healthy, and non-violent world... AVP is a training program that enables participants to deal with a potentially violent situation in new and creative ways. Workshops are run by our trained facilitators. Our workshops are experiential and not based on lectures or advice... AVP began in 1975 in a NY prison. The inmates asked local Quakers to help them devise a program to support prisoners to help them devise a program to resolve conflicts nonviolently.
