Mr. Albrecht specializes in and advises and represents clients on sales, use, and commodity tax matters, including the Goods and Services Tax and Harmonized Sales Tax (GST/HST), Land Transfer Tax and federal excise taxes and duties. He also advises clients in all aspects of international trade law, including anti-dumping, countervailing, and safeguard matters before the CBSA/CITT and in other NAFTA and WTO/GATT related matters, including investment restrictions and trade in services. His other areas of practice include customs law value for duty, tariff classification, export controls / sanctions and import controls, and duty relief. Julia is the founder of Artunis Law. Julia's practice is focused in tax and real estate law. Julia is one of the few Iranian Canadian female lawyers practicing tax advisory and controversy in Canada. Julia regularly helps homeowners, real estate investors, builders, and landlords who are being audited or reassessed by the CRA. Prior to Artunis Law, Julia practiced in the areas of tax advisory and controversy, and real estate law at EY Law LLP. in Toronto. Julia is a frequent guest speaker at various real estate and builders boards and associations in Ontario. Julia is fluent in Farsi. Julia's practice involves assisting clients with resolving tax disputes related to income tax, provincial taxes and GST/HST.
