Arafatur Rahman

Md Arafatur Rahman received his Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II, Naples, Italy in 2013. He has more than 10 years Research and Teaching experience in the domain of Computer and Communications Engineering. Currently, he is a Senior Lecturer with the School of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Wolverhampton, UK. He was an Associate Professor with the Faculty of Computing, Universiti Malaysia Pahang, where he had conducted Undergraduate and Masters Courses and supervised more than 21 B.Sc., 5 M.Sc. and 5 PhD students. He worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with University of Naples Federico II in 2014 and Visiting Researcher with the Sapienza University of Rome in 2016. His research interests include Internet-of-Things (IoT), Wireless Communication Networks, Cognitive Radio Network, 5G, Vehicular Communication, Cyber Physical System, Big Data, Cloud-Fog-Edge Computing, Machine Learning and Security. He has developed an excellent track record of academic leadership as well as management and execution of international ICT projects that are supported by agencies in Italy, EU and Malaysia. Dr. Rahman has received number of prestigious international research awards, notably the Best Paper Award at ICNS'15 (Italy), IC0902 Grant (France), Italian Government PhD Research Scholarship and IIUM Best Masters Student Award, Best Supervisor Award at UMP, Awards in International Exhibitions including Best Innovation Award, MTE 2020, Malaysia, Diamond and Gold in BiS'17 UK, Best of the Best Innovation Award and Most Commercial IT Innovation Award, Malaysia, and Gold and Silver medals in iENA'17 Germany. Dr. Rahman has co-authored of around 100 prestigious IEEE and Elsevier journal (e.g., IEEE TII, IEEE TSC, IEEE COMMAG, Elsevier JNCA, Elsevier FGCS etc.) and conference publications (e.g., IEEE Globecom, IEEE DASC, etc.) and has served as an Advisory Board Member, Editor (Computers, MDPI), Lead Guest Editor (IEEE ACCESS, Computers), Associate Editor (IEEE ACCESS), Petron, General Chair, Organizing Committee, Publicity Chair, Session Chair, Programme Committee and Member of Technical Programme Committee (TPC) in numerous leading conferences worldwide (e.g., IEEE Globecom, IEEE DASC, IEEE iSCI, IEEE ETCCE etc.) and Journals. His name was enlisted inside the World top 2% scientists list released by Stanford University under the category of "Citation Impact in Single Calendar Year 2019 and 2020". He was a Fellow of IBM Center of Excellence and Earth Resources & Sustainability Center, Malaysia and a Senior Member of IEEE.

Arif Anwary

Biography Arif Anwary is currently working as a Research Associate at Edinburgh Napier University and Data Scientist at Ace Aquatec. He gained PhD in "An Automatic Wearable Multi-Sensor Based Gait Analysis System for Older Adults" from Bournemouth University, MPhil from University of Wolverhampton, M.Sc. in Computer Science from Gyeongsang National University, South Korea, and B.Sc. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Asia Pacific, Bangladesh. He was Assistant Professor in academics resulted 15+ years R&D experience with 4 grants (over £50K), 8 awards, 20+ publications and 30+ projects. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge in cutting-edge technologies with a large portfolio of multidisciplinary projects (Sensors: Wearable, Ambient and Vision; Signal Processing, Image Processing, IoT/Cloud, Machine Learning, Gait Analysis, Statistical Shape Analysis, Fuzzy System, Assistive Technology, Healthcare and Rapid Prototyping).

Dr Mueen Uddin

Biography Dr Mueen Uddin is currently working as Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity and Blockchain at Universiti Brunei Darussalam. He completed his PhD from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia UTM in 2013 and B.S. & M.S. in Computer Science from Isra University Hyderabad, Pakistan. Dr Mueen has authored more than 100 International research articles published in highly indexed and reputed journals. His research interests include Blockchain, Cybersecurity, Information and Network Security, Information Systems, Cloud Computing and Virtualization.

Dr Nour Moustafa

Biography Dr Nour Moustafa is Coordinator of Postgraduate Cyber Discipline & Leader of Intelligent Security at School of Engineering & Information Technology (SEIT), University of New South Wales (UNSW)'s UNSW Canberra, Australia. He was a Post-doctoral Fellow at UNSW Canberra from June 2017 till December 2018. He received his Ph.D. degree in the field of Cyber Security from UNSW Canberra in 2017. He obtained his Bachelor and Master degree of Computer Science in 2009 and 2014, respectively, from the Faculty of Computer and Information, Helwan University, Egypt. His areas of interest include Cyber Security, in particular, Network Security, IoT security, intrusion detection systems, statistics, Deep learning and machine learning techniques. He has several research grants with totalling over AUD 1.2 Million. He has been awarded the 2020 prestigious Australian Spitfire Memorial Defence Fellowship award. He is also a Senior IEEE Member, ACM Distinguished Speaker, as well as CSCRC and Spitfire Fellow. He has served his academic community, as the guest associate editor of IEEE transactions journals, including IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE IoT Journal, as well as the journals of IEEE Access, Future Internet and Information Security Journal: A Global Perspective. He has also served over seven conferences in leadership roles, involving vice-chair, session chair, Technical Program Committee (TPC) member and proceedings chair, including 2020-2021 IEEE TrustCom and 2020 33rd Australasian Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence.

Dr. Abu Yousuf

Biography ABU YOUSUF holds PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II, Italy. His primary research interests include Biorefinery, Bioenergy, Bioremediation and Waste-to-energy. He published more than 50 papers in reputed ISI and Scopus indexed journals and 11 book chapters. He is the Editor of three books "Lignocellulosic biomass to Liquid biofuels" , "Microalgae Cultivation for Biofuels Production" and "Bioreactors: Sustainable Design and Industrial Applications in Mitigation of GHG Emissions", published by Elsevier. He also has been serving as an editorial board member of several reputed Journals. He won UNESCO Prize on E-learning course of ‘Energy for sustainable development in Asia', Jakarta, Indonesia, 2011. He attended the ‘BIOVISION.Next Fellowship Programme 2013' at Lyon, France, after a selection based on scientific excellence, mobility, involvement in civil society. He successfully accomplished 10 research projects including the grants provided by The World Academy of Science (TWAS), Italy, Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia and Ministry of Science and Technology, Bangladesh. Dr. Yousuf was the member of IChemE, American Chemical Society (ACS), and American Association for Science and Technology (AASCIT). He has 12 years' experience of teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate levels having very good remarks from the student. Currently, Dr. Yousuf is serving as a Professor in Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh. Previously he held the position of Senior Lecturer at Faculty of Engineering Technology, Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Malaysia. He presented his research work in Germany, France, Italy, India, Vietnam and Malaysia.

Dr. Farhat Anwar

Biography Professor Farhat Anwar was awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship to pursue his Ph.D in Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, UK and obtained the degree in 1996. Earlier, he earned his Master's and Bachelor (with Honours) degrees in Applied Physics and Electronics from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Prof. Anwar started his teaching career as a lecturer at the Department of Applied Physics and Electronics, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 1988. He has been with IIUM since 1999 and is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). He was appointed Head of the ECE Department from July 2003 to June 2005, Postgraduate Academic Advisor for ECE from June 2010 to May 2012, Internal Reviewer for the CIE programme (2007- 2008) and Student Advisor for the CIE programme (2001-2003). He is also actively involved as a member of the Accreditation Committee, Curriculum Committee and Board of Studies for CIE and CE programmes of the ECE department. Prof. Anwar is the coordinator of the Computer Networking Research Group. He has successfully secured many internal and external grants for his research activities including research consultancy for MIMOS' Wireless Communications Lab (2007-2010). He has supervised more than 30 Ph.D and Master theses and has published well over 110 papers in international refereed journals and conference proceedings. Prof. Anwar has also published, 'Research Issues in Wireless Communications and Networking' and 29 book chapters with various publishers. He has been invited to give talks at seminars and public lectures organized by UTeM, UPM, MYREN and IIUM, has acted as an external examiner and assessor for numerous leading universities in Malaysia, and has been actively involved with numerous national and international conferences in different capacities. Prof. Anwar is a member of many professional organizations including IEEE and ACM.

Dr. Lakhveer Singh

Dr. Lakhveer Singh is a faculty at the Department of Environment Science, SRMUniversity Amaravati, AP. Earlier, I worked as an Associate Professor at University Malaysia Pahang, Malaysia and as post-doctoral researcher at Oregon State University, Corvallis, USA. After obtaining my PhD from University Malaysia Pahang, Malaysia in 2013. My major areas of research expertise are Energy production, Bioelectrochemical Systems, Wastewater Treatment, and Nanomaterial synthesis for sustainable applications. Dr. Singh has developed and upscale a hybrid bioelectrochemical system that contains highly efficient bacteria and novel cloth electrode assemblies with low-cost cathodes for hydrogen production from wastewater and lignocellulosic biomass. I have 3 patents, edited 16 books (ACS, Elsevier, CRC etc.), published over 90 scientific papers (>3000 citations; h-index 31) and 15 book chapters. I have supervised 5 Ph.D and completed more than 10 R&D projects (total budget more than 1 crore). I have delivered more than 10 international invited talks. I am in Editorial board member for Journal of Biomass Conversion and Biorefinery (Springer, I.F. 4.98). I have research collaborations with several international and national institutes and universities.

Muhammad Ajmal Azad

Muhammad Ajmal Azad is a Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Cyber Security in the Department of Computer Science and Digital Technologies at Birmingham City University. His research interests broadly covers the areas of network security and privacy. In the past few years, he designed systems and methods for securing the telecommunication users from the telemarketers, robo-callers, scammers, and spammers using behavioral modeling and social network analysis. He has also explored ways for protecting the privacy of telephone users in a collaborative environment. Currently, he is involved in projects like Identity spoofing, secure reputation systems, collaborative security, security of VoIP and Next-generation Network security.

Prof. Dr. Prashant Pillai

Biography Prof Prashant Pillai is an award-winning academic leader and visionary who has over 19 years of UK Higher Education experience. He is a globally renowned scholar and outstanding university educator who provides academic direction and leadership to research, business engagement and education within the subject area of computer science at the University of Wolverhampton. He has a proven track record in not just guiding innovative strategies and institutional visions but leading from the front in transforming academic departments and research groups. He thrives working across complex organisational landscapes and has a proven history of embedding positive working cultures and empowering individuals to develop leading groups and centres. Prof Pillai has held several senior roles at different organisations and led both teaching and research activities. Over the years, Prof Pillai has led several national/international research projects in the areas of networking protocols and cyber security. He has been invited for talks at various international conferences and has published over 100 papers within peer-reviewed journals and conferences. With educational background in Electronics and IT security and an avid interest in Artificial Intelligence, Prof Pillai has a passion for researching complex issues that lie in the interaction of these areas. His current research interest lies in the application of AI and developing novel security solutions for safety critical systems (like smart grid, autonomous cars, aeronautical systems and robotics). Prof. Hossain M. Zabed

Prof. Hossain M. Zabed is currently working as a Professor at the School of Food & Biological Engineering. He received his PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Malaya, Malaysia. His main research area is synthetic biology-mediated conversion of waste and biomass into fuels and commodity chemicals. In this context, he works on biocatalysis, metabolic engineering, protein engineering, pathway construction and optimization, fermentation technology, bioprocess engineering, and bioprocess optimization. During his tenure at JSU, he received "International Young Scientist Research Grant" from NSFC, "Jiangsu Province Doctor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship award", "Special and General Postdoctoral Research Grants" from the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and "Foreign Expert research Program" from the Ministry of Science & Technology of China. He served as a guest editor and an editorial member of several international journals. He has professional membership with the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), National Young Academy of Bangladesh, International Consortium of Research Staff Associations (ICoRSA), and Microbiology Society.
