STONY APPAREL - Key Persons
Dean came to the USA as a foreign exchange student from South Africa to attend FIT. He started his career as a QC inspector in downtown Los Angeles, worked his way up to running production for multiple companies, most notably, Area Code, A Gold E and California Concepts. Dean joined our team as COO 16 years ago and has been our President since 2009.
Doris emigrated from Hong Kong to attend school in the US at the age of 13. Upon graduating, she began government work, which she found very boring, although it was thru that government work that she met her husband. Since then, her career in product development and production has allowed her a chance to see the beautifully diverse world from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, China, Philippines, Vietnam and India. After 15 years with Stony Apparel, she views her team as an extension of her family.
A native to Southern California, Elyse graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. Shortly after graduation Elyse joined the Robinsons May Executive Training program, which served as a great experience in the buying office and stores. In 2006, she joined the Stony team as a retail analyst and has held numerous positions over her 14 year tenure. She prides herself on efficiency, creative problem solving and developing people.
Frank began his IT career in 2000 as a freelancer and IT support. In 2003, he decided to continue his education and achieved his B.S. in Business Management from University of Phoenix. In 2011 he joined STONY Apparel Corp as I.T. Manager and is about to celebrate his 10 year anniversary. He's had the opportunity to implement management systems to support STONY Apparel technical needs and enjoys collaborating with the staff to identify and define system challenges and recommend systems solutions.
Les was born and raised in Southern California and has been in the apparel industry for over 30 years. He has extensive experience in distribution in managing both 3PL's and brands, such as, Paige Denim, 7 Jeans and Koral. Les knew at the beginning of his career that he wanted to manage a team because he knew he could do this thru mutual respect. He has been an integral part of the Stony team for over 10 years now. An avid golfer, Les is always ready to represent Stony in a charity tournament!

For as long as Marya can remember, she wanted to be in the fashion business. She began her career in retail with Frederick Atkins buying office, moved into the wholesale business working as a designer at several companies before starting at Stony Apparel in 2006 as a Merchandiser. Marya is living her dream working with design teams, customers and travelling the world for her job, going on 15 years with Stony. Marya is originally from Virginia and a graduate of American College of Applied Arts in Los Angeles.

A Southern California native and a graduate of FIDM, Susan's love of sewing began at an early age and by her teens, she was advancing her knowledge of tailoring and construction techniques! She enjoys solving construction and fit challenges with a particular focus on maintaining design integrity with ease in production, as well as fitting all body types! She enjoys being a part of the technology revolution in 3D and is excited to see what comes next! Susan has been a part of the Stony family since the beginning and has the honor of being one of the company's first employees!
Tony began his career as a Chartered Accountant (UK equivalent of CPA) in Scotland. Upon landing a coveted position with Moss Adams, he was excited to move to Los Angeles. Tony spent years with XOXO and more recently has worked on Private Equity transactions. As a previous Stony team member, we were excited to get him back in 2019! He is a man of few words, a motorcycle enthusiast and says he was "born for social distancing!"
