Gérard Ledrans, founder of MDY, was initiated into the beauty and secrets of marble by sculptors. Starting in 1986, his son Philippe continued to perpetuate this amazing, time-honoured craft whereby designers could produce décor as beautiful as jewellery. To achieve this outcome, Stones Of France invests in research, coming up with manufacturing solutions, with a view to attaining perfection at all stages of the process, from the extraction of the raw material, processing it, then producing the most sophisticated of decorative elements. Having handed down its precious savoir-faire in terms of selecting the stone and crafting the finished product, the firm now boasts peerless savoir-faire.
