NAMAK MANDI

Namak Mandi, which means salt market in urdu, is named after an area in Peshawar, the capital of Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province that borders Afghanistan. Namak Mandi was a salt market in colonial times, but as times have changed, so has the market. Namak Mandi is now known for its many restaurants, all specializing in meat-heavy Pashtun cuisine.
