Lipedema affects millions of women around the world and is often misdiagnosed as lymphedema... Lipedema typically causes the upper body to be much smaller in size compared to the lower body. The disproportionate weight and fat distribution can cause complications, including varicose veins and deteriorating joints. Lipedema also affects sufferers with general discomfort and pain.
