D'Eon Oyster Company was founded in 1996 by Nolan D'Eon. Having spent his entire work life at sea, Nolan always found himself eager to get back home to his family. After realizing that lobster fishing wasn't the future he wanted for himself or his kids, he sold his boat and license. Having watched wild oysters grow naturally in the brackish waters of Eel Lake for over 15 years he knew of the huge potential sitting in his backyard... DEon Oyster Company was founded in 1996 from a dream that Nolan D'Eon had 15 years prior. A once lobster fisherman, he sold his boat and license and the rest is history…... Southern Nova Scotia's pristine waters offer an exceptional environment for aquatic life. Oysters thrive in this area and DEon Oyster Company offers that very example.
