Matthew F. Ferraro is counsel in the Washington, DC office of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP where he practices at the intersection of national security, cybersecurity, and crisis management. He counsels clients, writes, and speaks on the threats that digital disinformation and deepfakes pose to corporations, brands and markets, on the positive-use applications of synthetic media, and on the evolving regulatory environment surrounding these issues. Earlier in his career, Mr. Ferraro was a U.S. intelligence officer and held staff, policy, and operational positions at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Central Intelligence Agency. He is a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a senior fellow at the National Security Institute at George Mason University.
