Hire Fitness Ireland was founded in 2008 by husband and wife team Paul and Theresa Sweetnam. Following the birth of their first child, Theresa wanted to get back in shape but the cost and availability of quality gym membership and time constraints associated with a small baby meant that finding an exercise solution was extremely difficult. At this time Paul was looking for a new business challenge, having worked in farm management for the previous 8 years. Realising the gap in the market for the provision of quality home use gym equipment for rental in the Irish market, Paul decided to approach Hire Fitness and bring the concept to Ireland.
