Christina M. Royer

Chris is a Partner with Employment Law Partners, LLC. She has practiced exclusively in the area of employment law representing individuals since 2004 and Chris brings a breadth of experience in the area. In particular, her knowledge and skill regarding Ohio unemployment compensation law brings a focus in this area to the firm. Chris was selected as a Rising Star from 2009 to 2011 by Ohio Super Lawyers magazine, and has been selected as a "Super Lawyer" in the area of Employment Law by Ohio Super Lawyers magazine since 2012. Chris's practice areas include representing individuals in cases involving employment discrimination and retaliation; unemployment compensation claims; non-compete agreements; and severance negotiations. Chris is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association and the Ohio Employment Lawyers Association, where she has served on the Board and the Amicus Committee since 2007. She also served as Chair of the Cleveland Employment Lawyers Association from 2011 to 2015. Chris is also a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, serving as the 2014-2015 Chair of the Court Rules Committee, and as a member of the Committee since 2013. She has been a member of the Cleveland Employment Inn of Court since its inception in 2005.

David N. Truman

David brings a practical approach to advocacy with a focus on meeting his clients' goals. He gives every client a realistic assessment of objectives and the available options to pursue them. David began practicing employment law upon admission to the Ohio bar in 2007 - first with a law firm primarily representing employers in the healthcare field and then as counsel to a fast-growing health services provider. In 2009, David founded his own firm so that he could represent employees and consumers as well as managers and employers. David has experience litigating race, age, and disability discrimination claims, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) interference and retaliation claims, whistleblower claims, breaches of contract, and claims for unpaid wages. He has successfully represented corporate clients and advocated for employees against some of the largest companies in the country. He has also drafted company policies and employee handbooks, counseled managers on HR practices, and successfully defended managers personally facing discrimination and retaliation lawsuits. David has represented employees and employers in a variety of forums including: state and federal courts in Ohio, the Ohio Civil Rights Commission (OCRC), the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Department of Labor (DOL) investigations, and unemployment compensation hearings. David has served as vice chair of the Solo/Small Firm Section of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and a member of the CMBA Lawyer Referral Service steering board. Prior to enrolling in law school, David was an award-winning newspaper reporter in Lake County. He joined the firm in 2020.

Kami D. Brauer

Kami represents all types of workers, from laborers to executives, providing smart and innovative counseling and litigation services. Kami has been named one of the top lawyers in Ohio for 2021, 2022, and 2023 and serves as an Arbitrator for employment matters with the American Arbitration Association. Losing a job or dealing with problems in the workplace can be highly emotional and overwhelming. Kami understands this and treats her clients with respect and compassion while providing them with vigorous representation focused on integrity and finding creative solutions to their problems. She works in close collaboration with her clients to design legal strategies that are both cost-effective and focused on achieving the individual goals of each client. Neil E. Klingshirn

In his community, Neil has served in leadership posts on numerous boards and committees. He was the Chair of the Hudson, Ohio Personnel Advisory and Appeals Board (i.e., Civil Service Commission) and co-Chaired the successful merger of Hudson Village and Hudson Township in the 1990s. He has also served on successful Hudson School levy campaigns. Neil is an AV rated Super Lawyer and Board Certified Employment law Specialist. He is a passionate, resourceful and tireless advocate who has represented individuals and companies in employment and business disputes for over 30 years. Neil began his legal practice at Squire, Sanders & Dempsey in Cleveland in 1986. He practiced employment law with his own firm from 1993 until 2016, when he joined Employment Law Partners, LLC. Education Neil graduated with Honors from the Ohio State University College of Law in 1986. He was an Editor of the Ohio State Law Journal and a Founding Trustee of the Student Funded Fellowship. Neil graduated summa cum laude and with University Honors from Kent State University in 1983, where he holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting. Neil was elected Executive Director of the Undergraduate Student Senate (i.e, student body president) in 1982. Kent State University recognized Neil's contributions in 1983 as the Outstanding Senior of the Year.

Stuart G. Torch
