fivemoons is run by an independent hand-dyer, who works in a colourful studio, nestled in the Blackdown hills... fivemoons started out based in my kitchen at home, rising from my personal frustration as a hand knitter who found it very difficult to source luxury hand-dyed yarns in the mid 2000s. Using experience gained as a child from helping my mother, who started hand spinning and dyeing with both plant-based and acid dyes back in the 1970s, I experimented and developed my own style using acid dyes. Friends, and then my Local Yarn Shop became interested, and my business was born.
