Alex Veterinary Technician

A lifelong Michigander and animal lover, Alex joined our team in January 2022. She started her journey in Veterinary Medicine in November 2020 by graduating from Ross Medical Education Center for Veterinary Assisting. Working in the field sparked her interest to continue her education and is now working towards her Associate's in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology at Penn Foster College. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, camping, and spending time with her boyfriend and their two dogs, Ox & Riley.

Ashley LVT

Ashley graduated from the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician program with an Associate's degree of Applied Science in 2023, and she has worked for 17 years in veterinary medicine. Her special interests lie in surgery and dentistry, and she has taken classes in Fear Free techniques and CPR. Her vast experience and dedication show her commitment to ensuring the best care for our furry friends. Outside the clinic, Ashley is a loving wife, and mom to one wonderful child. Her family also includes a delightful duo of dogs (a French Bulldog and Pit Bull), a cute kitty, and even four feathered friends in the form of chickens. Ashley enjoys a well-rounded life beyond her veterinary work. She loves to spend quality time with her family, whether it's in the garden, taking a dip in the pool, sewing, crafting, or whipping up delicious treats in the kitchen.

Dr. Dana Hall

Dr. Hall is a 1999 graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is interested in veterinary rehabilitation (physical therapy) and completed the veterinary rehabilitation course at the University of Tennessee in 2010. Her other areas of interest include dermatology and internal medicine. Dr Hall lives with her husband, mother, and two dogs. In her free time she enjoys hiking, birdwatching, and learning to play the harp.

Dr. Dawn Tulson

Dr. Tulson is a 2006 Graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is certified in veterinary acupuncture (mixed animal), food therapy, and certified in veterinary medical manipulation (chiropractic) from Chi University. She enjoys spending time with her husband, two young children, and 3 dogs. Outside the office, Dr. Tulson loves to travel with her family and show horses.

Dr. Kayleigh Pivonka

Dr. Pivonka graduated from Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. She initially worked at a mixed animal practice and quickly recognized the benefit of incorporating Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine into her practice. Soft tissue surgery and acupuncture are two of her favorite aspects of veterinary medicine. Currently, Dr. Pivonka only offers Acupuncture, but hopes to add more aspects of TCVM to her repertoire. Outside of the office, her two horses, various poultry, cats, dog and martial arts take up the majority of her time.

Dr. Kelly Flanagan

Dr. Kelly Flanagan is a 2001 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and joined our team at Village Vet in November 2021. Although she's a proud Buckeye, Dr. Flanagan is a native of southwest Michigan. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Hope College, but in order to pursue her Master of Science degree, she moved to Ohio. After 10 years, she moved back to southwest Michigan due to her love of the area, and close proximity to family. Dr. Flanagan's family includes her husband and two adult children. She has three cats, a snake, poison dart frogs, aquatic salamanders, and several fish. Dr. Flanagan's veterinary interests include dentistry, palliative, hospice and geriatric care, but in her free time, she enjoys bird watching, knitting, and traveling.

Dr. Michelle Rivera

Dr. Michelle Rivera is a veterinarian who graduated in 2013 from UdeG (University of Guadalajara) in Mexico. Dr. Rivera has a limited veterinary license and is in the process of getting her full veterinary license to practice in the USA. Dr. Rivera is seeking to specialize in soft tissue surgery or ophthalmology in small animals. In her free time, she loves being outdoors (surfing, hiking or camping) or cooking with her husband. She loves to travel to different countries and get immersed in their cultures and cuisine. She has one cat; his name is Vincent.

Laura Mellinger

  • Hospital Administrator
Laura has been active in the Veterinary field for over 20 years. She received her Associates in Applied Science from Penn Foster College, PA. In addition to being a Licensed Veterinary Technician, she has additional accreditation in Equine Dentistry, Pet CPR and First Aid, is a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and a Certified Companion Animal Therapist. She has a strong interest in Anesthesia, Emergency and Critical Care, Rehabilitation Medicine, and Hospice/Palliative care. When she isn't working, she enjoys horseback riding, traveling, and camping with her husband and two boys. Her small hobby farm includes cats, dogs, and horses.

Sarah BS

Job Titles:

Sarah graduated from Michigan State University in the spring of 2002 as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She enjoys educating clients and studying patient behavior. In her free time she likes crafting, baking and relaxing around a campfire. Some crafts include quilting and creating greeting cards. Sarah has a Boston Terrier who gets into trouble frequently!
