ELYSON ANIMAL HOSPITAL - Key Persons
Born and raised in Cypress, TX, Dr. Bethany Smith came to know and love veterinary medicine as a sophomore in high school. Dr. Smith completed her undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University in 2002. She went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005.
Her professional interests include emergency medicine, soft tissue surgery, and preserving the human-animal bond. For more than 15 years, Dr. Smith has practiced in the Houston area. In this time, she has received advanced training in animal behavior by completing her Fear Free Certification in 2016 and recently advanced to Elite Certification-she understands the importance of providing personalized patient care every time. Understanding the importance of expanding her expertise, Dr. Smith spent the past few years working and honing her skills in emergency medicine.
The dream of operating her own business and providing compassionate patient care to the local community is what led her to build Elyson Animal Hospital. Dr. Smith and her husband are the proud parents to 3 children and a standard poodle named ‘Prince'. When she is not practicing medicine, she is actively involved in the children's ministry at church. She also enjoys traveling to the mountains, watching Aggie football, and serving her community. This year she was able to pursue a calling to serve on a mission trip to Mexico.
Rehana Ramroop-Serrano is a proud Houstonian that knew from a young age that she wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. After high school, she attended Vet Tech Institute of Houston and graduated in 2012. She then became a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 2013 and has been in the field for a decade. Throughout her career, she has gained knowledge and experience to provide the best care for our four-legged friends. In her spare time, she enjoys fishing and spending time with her husband and family. She has a sweet ten-year-old Calico named Callie, who was adopted from our very own Houston ASPCA!
