HINSON'S PECANS

Pecans are a perishable product because of the oil content in them. They must be stored properly to maintain the quality of the pecan. At home, you can store unshelled pecans in a dry cool place for 3-6 months. Shelled pecans can be stored in one of two ways. Either refrigerated in a air tight container for up to 9 months, or frozen in freezer bags for up to 2 years. Pecans can be frozen and refrozen for at least 2 years without loss of flavor.
