Andrew Shih

Andrew directs M Booth Health's policy and corporate communications work for national and international leaders in drug development and public health. Andrew currently oversees M Booth Health's work with Gilead Sciences on developing-world treatment access and other U.S. and global healthcare policy issues. He also manages corporate communications and thought leadership initiatives for the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health. He has also led media relations for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, helping to draw international attention and support to key global health issues. He also led the firm's work for UNAIDS, which played a central role in elevating global HIV/AIDS to the top of the international health agenda and has managed communications and rebranding for global agencies working in sanitation and hygiene. Prior to joining the firm, Andrew served as a public affairs officer and science writer at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. He is a graduate of Carleton College.

Chaz Cox

Chaz is well regarded by clients for his counsel and partnership as they navigate today's complex healthcare environment. He has a proven track record in building right-sized, cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class solutions that consider the ever-changing behaviors and expectations of stakeholders, emerging communications platforms, and political landscape. With experience working across a diverse set of pharmaceutical and biotech organizations, including AstraZeneca, Novo Nordisk, Merck, Sanofi, Regeneron, Novartis, and Janssen-among others-Chaz has supported significant, paradigm-shifting scientific milestones, and brought numerous products from lab to life. His brand experience is coupled with a passion for building transformational, patient-centric programs that inspire positive change while driving business. Throughout his career, Chaz has launched and supported various award-winning patient programs, including Living Positive by Design (Merck HIV), I Design (Merck HIV), Ask.Screen.Know. Chaz joins M Booth Health from Edelman, where he served as the US Client Relationship Manager, EVP for the largest Healthcare client in the network. During his tenure and under his leadership, his team drove consistent, double-digit growth year-over-year, with retention rates above industry standard. His people-first approach coupled with a client-centric mindset creates environments where people thrive, while delivering exceptional work. Chaz holds a dual BA in Psychology and Communications from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.

Karen O'Malley

Karen leads the Public Affairs practice at M Booth Health, focused on helping issue-oriented clients build their leadership profiles and change health policy for the better. Over more than two decades, Karen has shaped the communications strategies for landmark developments in cancer, global health, infectious disease, and environmental issues, working with many of the world's leading philanthropies, non-profits, government and UN agencies, associations, and health systems. Adept at institutional brand-building, advocacy and scientific communications, thought leadership, media strategy and crisis management, Karen's guiding motivation is to make a difference in human health. Clients have included the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the World Health Organization and myriad advocacy organizations. She is the co-founder of the Corkery Group (now part of M Booth Health) and led the firm for a decade. Prior to that, she was agency-trained at Ogilvy PR and cut her teeth in advocacy communications at the Natural Resource Defense Council and various global development organizations. She is a graduate of Cornell University.

Leila Darabi

Leila helps M Booth Health's nonprofit and philanthropic clients define advocacy and communications strategies and tell stories of their impact. Leila co-leads M/Pact, M Booth Health's specialized social impact offering, in partnership with consumer sister agency M Booth. She provides strategic counsel and communications support to health, rights, policy, and philanthropic clients including Planned Parenthood Global, the International AIDS Society, and several corporate giving campaigns. Before joining the firm, she led global communications for Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the Guttmacher Institute, drawing attention to the need for investments in sexual and reproductive health and rights. She has worked alongside health care providers, researchers, advocates, policymakers and journalists around the world, with extensive experience in sub-Saharan Africa. Leila has led workshops in campaign design, message development, storytelling, digital strategy and media engagement. She received her MS in journalism from Columbia University, her undergraduate degree from Sarah Lawrence College and a certificate in international relations from Sciences Po Paris.

Michelle Webb

Michelle joins M Booth Health as EVP, Marketing Communications with nearly 20 years of experience across the healthcare industry, including enterprise storytelling, thought leadership, product communications, public affairs, and health policy. She is a member of MBooth Health's executive leadership team, serves as senior strategic lead for key accounts, and leads the agency's client experience program, CX@MBH. Prior to M Booth Health, Michelle was Managing Director at Allison+Partners and was the agency's first-ever North America Healthcare Practice Leader. During her tenure, she created an integrated team of more than a dozen healthcare communications professionals across a multi-million dollar portfolio of diagnostic, device, pharmaceutical, and health tech clients during the global pandemic. Michelle also held senior roles at Burson Cohn & Wolfe (BCW), where she oversaw a high-growth portfolio of corporate health communications for pharma clients, and APCO, where she oversaw corporate communications and public affairs for one of the country's largest insurers during the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. She's also held in-house roles with The Brookings Institution's Center for Health Care Policy and Primary Care Development Corporation (PCDC). Michelle holds a bachelor's degree from Loyola University of Maryland and a master's of health policy from Baruch College. She lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Peter Matheson Gay

Peter Matheson Gay is Chief Impact Officer at M Booth Health, the specialist health communications consultancy that combines deep healthcare expertise with powerful consumer and digital marketing offerings. In his role, Peter drives the overall impact of our client work. He leads the firm's specialist health creative team and partners closely with its insights, innovation, and client teams. He infuses creativity and strategy from idea inception to campaign execution, and explores new and innovative ways to reach and connect with physician, patient, payer, and policymaker audiences alike. Peter's ability to authentically connect with audiences has been recognized by clients and media. In fact, Medical Media & Marketing described a multi-year campaign for the multiple sclerosis community as "cannier, more sensitive to patient needs and just plain more effective than pretty much every other education or awareness campaign out there." With over 20 years of health experience - and exceptional creative chops in the sector - Peter has honed an approach that is grounded in delivering results for clients. Always a journalist at heart, his campaigns are rich in storytelling and rooted in bringing real value to communities, motivating action and influencing real change. He has worked closely with pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies, advocacy and not-for-profit groups, government and public health organizations, institutions, professional organizations and more. And his work has won awards from the industry's most prestigious competitions, including Cannes Lions, CLIO Health, PR Week, SABRE Awards, Communiqué Awards, London International Awards, PRSA, Shorty Awards, and many others. Previously, Peter started the first earned-focused, global health creative team in the PR industry, and launched a global health network that included 27 agencies. Peter has been featured in many publications and is often asked to participate in industry podcasts and events. Originally from Canada, Peter is fluent in French. After graduating from Carleton University (one of Canada's most prestigious journalism schools), he started his career as a journalist. An entrepreneur at heart, Stacey brings great passion to building novel approaches for clients, while fostering a culture of inclusivity, energy and excellence among talent. Tayla Mahmud

Tayla Mahmud is the EVP, Health Equity & Multicultural Strategy at M Booth Health. In this role, she leads and guides the agency's work on Health Equity and Multicultural Communications by counseling our public affairs, social impact, and marketing communications clients on strategies to advance health equity, reach diverse communities, and demonstrate commitment to reducing disparities. A health marketing & communications professional with over 19 years of experience, Tayla is known for approaching every challenge with courage and conviction. She has a leadership style all her own. Her passion for helping patients, building purposeful brands, and delivering results is exemplified by the many accomplishments over her career. Tayla is most passionate about advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in healthcare. Tayla has counseled health organizations on DE&I strategy and cross-cultural communications. She has worked with diverse patient populations to create inclusive programs to address care gaps. Tayla is also an active writer and speaker on the importance of addressing inequities in healthcare, communications, and business. Recognized by the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association, Tayla built her career leading agency teams to develop integrated health campaigns across therapeutic areas such as diabetes, immunology, neurology, pain, women's health, and vaccines. This work has reached diverse stakeholders including patients, advocacy groups, healthcare professionals, payers, and healthcare executives.
