Etienne Romsom - President

Etienne Romsom's career in the energy industry spans 28 years and his employment included Royal Dutch Shell (23 years), DNV GL (4 years) and since early 2017 he has joined a new company EnergyCC. In DNV GL, Etienne was Global Executive Vice President responsible for growth and strategy for the Oil & Gas business area and he was a member of the Executive Leadership Team, based in Norway. In DNV GL he also led initiatives on industry cost competitiveness, collaboration, future proofing of assets and asset safety. Before joining DNV GL, Etienne was Managing Director of Shell Exploration & Production in Kuwait. His expertise is in developing and leading complex mega projects, including LNG, CO2 Enhanced Oil Recovery, Gas-to-Liquids, CBM, Tight Gas and Sour Gas projects. During his Shell career, Etienne has worked and lived in The Netherlands, Oman, UK, Indonesia, Singapore, India, Dubai and Kuwait. Mr. Romsom has a professional background in petroleum engineering and he holds a Master degree in Applied Physics from the Technical University in Delft in The Netherlands. He has had executive education at IMD in Lausanne, further complemented by technical and leadership development at Shell and at DNV GL.

Kathryn McPhail - CEO

Kathryn is an energy executive with extensive public policy experience, and a sustainable development practitioner with 30 years' work experience in Asia, Africa and South America. She is a former World Bank/IFC, oil & gas and mining industry executive with FTSE 100 companies. She serves on the Technical Advisory Group of the Natural Resources Governance Institute, New York, USA, the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network on extractives and land resources, New York, USA, and is Governor of the University of Aberdeen, UK where she also serves on the Remuneration Committee.

Sir Mark Moody-Stuart

Sir Mark Moody-Stuart joins EnergyCC as Special Advisor and as Chairman of the Advisory Board Sir Mark Moody-Stuart is Vice-Chairman of the UN Global Compact Board and Chairman of the Global Compact Foundation. Previously he was Chairman of the Royal Dutch/Shell Group from 1998 to 2001, Anglo American plc from 2002 to 2009 and Hermes Equity Ownership Services from 2009 to 2016. After a doctorate in geology in 1966 at Cambridge University, he worked for Shell starting as an exploration geologist, living in Holland, Spain, Oman, Brunei, Australia, Nigeria, Turkey, Malaysia, and UK. A Director of Saudi Aramco 2007- , Advisory Board member of Envision Energy, Shanghai, China, one of the top ten wind turbine companies in the world, Accenture (2001-2015), HSBC (2001-10). Sir Mark is Chairman of the FTSE ESG Advisory Committee, Honorary Co-Chairman of the International Tax and Investment Center 2011, Chairman, Governance and Nominations Committee, International Council for Integrated Reporting, Chairman of the Innovative Vector Control Consortium. Chairman of the of the Global Business Coalition for HIV/AIDS 2002-2011. He was Board member Global Reporting Initiative 2002-7 and the International Institute for Sustainable Development 2002-2011. Sir Mark is author of "Responsible Leadership - Lessons from the front line of sustainability and ethics".
