CHI-LILY SALON - Key Persons
Gary Leming, Jr. is recognized as one of Metro Detroit's top colorists and hair stylists. He serves as a Master Artist and educator for American Culture, one of the beauty industry's fastest growing lines of color and hair care products.
He started his career in 2000. He has trained with industry giants including Geneva Cowen - Redken Artist, Artistic Director for Sam Villa, and Modern Salon's 2014 Editorial Stylist of the Year, as well as Patrick McIvor, Artistic & TechniCulture Director for Goldwell and KMS, and Ted Talk contributor.
Gary worked at high-end salons in Beverly Hills, California for several years before returning to his home state of Michigan to serve as lead Colorist for A Peter James Salon in Ann Arbor.
Gary specializes in all things hair color - from the artistic to the difficult. "Dimensional color, the art of creating depth and richness in tones and color for my clients, is at the heart of what I do," he says. "I'm influenced in my art by nature and music, which can be both bold and subtle. I spend a lot of time listening to my clients, so I can achieve a finished result that will make them stand out, whether they want something refined or daring."
"Because I've made such a study of the technical elements of hair color, I'm comfortable with aspects that can be challenging to others. I have answers for grey coverage, reds, and making color last, which is the result of both a good colorist and good product."
Gary is an expert in hair color, foiling, redder reds, richer blonds, grey coverage, corrective color techniques, lasting hair color, blow-outs, up ‘dos, and fashionable, precision cuts for men, women and children.
