Following a 20+ year career as a school social worker/counselor, Alison joined the Clarke County Mentor Program in 2022 as our first Program Manager and was promoted to Executive Director in 2023.
Alison and her husband moved to Athens in 1996 to attend graduate school at the University of Georgia and have called Athens home ever since. As a parent of two boys, Alison has enjoyed being involved with the Athens community and the Clarke County School District, be it through serving on PTA boards or enjoying their athletic and extracurricular activities.
In her free time, Alison enjoys spending time with her family, travel, sports, and the outdoors!
Spring hails from the Great Lakes State of Michigan! She was born in a small town on Lake Michigan approximately 100 miles east of Chicago. After working in higher education for over 15 years in Michigan, she moved to Arizona in 2001 and joined the Maricopa Community College District as a Student Services Professional. In 2019 she retired from her role as Counseling Faculty and later that year she moved to Georgia.
One of the things that people ask her when she meets them for the first time is…..how did you get your name, Spring? Were you born in the springtime? Her answer is always the same. "Yes, I was born in the spring."
Spring enjoys volunteering her time servicing the Athens Community while conducting voter registration activities. She also enjoys mentoring her 8th grade REACH Scholar at Burney Harris Lyons Middle School. Her current greatest joy is traveling with her adult daughter and exploring all of the wonders of Georgia!
Terry has served as the Program Assistant for the Clarke County Mentor Program since 2004. She is directly responsible for application management and much of the onboarding process for mentors and mentees in our program - things would not run as smoothly without her!
