I am a father of 2 daughters and have been married since 1984. My daughters have both graduated from college and I am glad to report they are now embarked on their own careers. Over 40 years, my career has taken me into several industries including food manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing, the transportation/logistics sector and the real estate industry. Over my career, I have managed departments with up to 250 employees , budgets exceeding $15 million and assets exceeding $100 million. In my over 15 year tenure as a professional fiduciary, I have found that every work experience and skill, all my classroom learning and all my personal experience is brought to bear in providing services to my fiduciary clients and cases. I started my professional fiduciary practice in 2007 but back in the late 90's my wife and I performed a fiduciary role, both financial and medical, for her mother and father who both eventually passed away from terminal illnesses. We also served as fiduciary for her grandfather who suffered from Alzheimer's disease meeting all the progressive needs for housing, personal and medical care, management of his financial affairs and end of life decisions that accompany this very difficult disease. Like many family members in our society we took these loved ones into our home until they either passed away or their care requirements exceeded our ability to meet their needs without help. We didn't know that what we were doing fell under the term "fiduciary" at the time. We just did what was necessary.
