Research in the Wanekaya Lab focuses on unraveling fundamentals of science and applying those principles and concepts to design and develop new materials at the macro and nano scale levels. At the nanoscale domain, we are interested in exploiting chemical, biochemical and biological properties that are unique to specific nanoscale materials. Some of our studies have led to the development of materials and devices with real life applications in chemical sensing, biosensing, diagnostics and therapeutics.
