The founder member of Fruit Trade International (FTI), Joe van den Berg, started up FTI, exporting his own subtropical fruit to Europe in the early 90's. This included mangoes, litchis and avocados. When the Citrus fruit industry deregulated in the mid 90's, he also started exporting his citrus products to Europe and other destinations. FTI was officially established in 2002 when Joe van den Berg took in partners and other producers to establish a fully-fledged Export Company with an in-house logistics arm... Our clients enjoy a long-standing relationship with us, and therefore FTI has managed to place the Southern Star, Citruspace and Jabulani brands successfully into each market... This ensures that FTI can offer consistent fruit quality, based on good internal and external standards. They adhere to HACCP / GAP and all the required post harvesting standards.
