Brenda has been a Steyning receptionist "since Adam was a lad!" and has seen the branch go from strength to strength. She loves the variety of her job, as well as the interaction with clients and their pets.
Brenda has lived in Steyning for 33 years and her children grew up with some of our clients! Brenda breeds, trains and works Labradors; currently she has 6 labs and a couple of terriers.

Carly is another receptionist at Storrington, and also takes charge of drugs ordering, helping the nurses with patients and doing other helpful jobs around the practice.
In her spare time Carly enjoys horse riding and training her dogs to do gundog work. She cycles to work every day come rain or shine!!

Charmaine has joined our Storrington practice as a student veterinary nurse and started her training at Plumpton College in September 2016. She has previously worked as an out of hours kennel assistant at a large referral practice. Charmaine loves horse riding and walking her dog Russell.

Chris Akehurst joined us in October 2017 after deciding to take a career change.
She enjoys dealing with the public and loves the added bonus of getting to meet the animals. She has herself been a client of the practice for many years with her boxer dogs, rabbit, gerbils and tortoise. In her spare time she enjoys pilates, riding her motorbike and relaxing with friends.

Erin qualified from Cambridge University in 2014 having previously obtained a Zoology degree from the University of Leeds in 2005. Since graduating she has worked in a small animal practice in Surrey before re-locating to West Sussex in 2019.
Erin has a certificate in Small Animal Medicine and has a keen interest in Dermatology and Feline Medicine.
In her spare time Erin enjoys playing Netball, Gardening and exploring West Sussex with her rescue Greyhound ‘Dee Dee'.

Gill has worked in the veterinary environment for 20 years and started at Crossways in April 2018. She has previously worked in an Environmental Centre and Wildlife Park and has recently joined a conservation group.
Gill has a dog called Chip who is now 13 and they enjoy walking on the downs. She has a keen interest in photography and craft and has recently taken up knitting for premature babies.

Helen qualified in 2002 and originally worked in Lewes before moving to Crossways in August 2018 to be closer to home and continue to develop her nursing progression.
Helen is married and has three young children who keep her quite busy outside work! Her pets include a Jack Russell cross called Bella, an elderly cat called Gandalf, two guinea pigs Rolo and Monty and a tortoise called Tilly.
Imogen qualified from the Royal Veterinary College London in 2016. Since then she has worked in small animal general practices in Surrey and Sussex, and joined the Crossways team in 2018. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary work, although does have a particular interest in internal medicine. She completed her Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in 2022, and is an Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Medicine. She was one of the inaugural London Vet Show and Pioneer "30 under Thirty" nominees in 2022. She's most commonly found at our Findon branch!
In her spare time, Imogen runs the Sussex branch of the BVA Young Vet Network. Alongside this, she has a passion for anything art related (especially sketching), and enjoys spending time with her husband, son and their rescue greyhound Dino.

Jane is our Tuesday receptionist at Storrington. She has been at Crossways for twenty years so reckons she must deserve a medal for loyal service!
Jane enjoys horse-riding, walking and spends a lot of time with her husband on their boat, just messing about on the river.

Julie helps to cover holidays across the three branches. She has over twenty five years of veterinary experience with a special interest in pet bereavement.
Due to ill health, she has spent the last few years working for an NHS admin team, but is thrilled to be back working part-time within the veterinary world!!
Kirsty qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2014 having previously obtained a degree in Zoology from Sheffield University in 2005. She has a particular interest in canine medicine.
Outside work Kirsty is a keen ‘Canicrosser' (cross country with a dog) with her Giant Schnauzer's and dabbles in ‘working trials' training as well.
When she isn't with her dogs she enjoys socialising with friends and competing in trail marathons - Kirsty has completed 6 so far!
Laura graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2020.
Originally from Essex, she moved to Sussex in 2020 following graduation. Laura works across both our Findon and Storrington branches, and has a keen interest in small animal dentistry.
Outside of work Laura loves travelling, cooking, and spending time with her pets.

Laura began nursing in 2005 and has been at Crossways since 2011. She has since gained her ECC Certificate.
Laura works alongside Sian with the day to day running of the nursing team.
Her hobbies include netball, horse riding and touch rugby along with walking her cocker spaniel Doris.
Louise graduated from the University of Bristol in 2006 and has worked in small animal practice in West Sussex ever since. She has a particular interest in medical cases and abdominal ultrasound. Louise has 3 children and a gorgeous spaniel puppy and in her spare time enjoys running, baking and volunteers at her local church.

Lynsey qualified from the University of Nottingham in 2012. Following graduation she volunteered at a charity clinic in London before working in a small animal practice in Northamptonshire.
Originally from London, she missed the south and moved down to Sussex to be near the sea. Lynsey is based mainly at the Storrington branch and has a keen interest in internal medicine.
In her spare time she enjoys travelling, cooking and spending time with her friends and family.

Marie qualified in 1999 and has since gone on to gain her diploma in advanced surgical nursing and a certificate in anaesthesia and critical care. Marie is also a clinical coach and has been training student nurses for the past 10 years.
She enjoys travel where she worked in a small animal emergency clinic in south Auckland, New Zealand, swing, dance, yoga and long walks with her 2 gordon setters Hector and Rumour and her miniature dachshund Spike.

Sally started her career at an equine hospital where she was a nurse and then clinic manager. After a career break and 2 children she joined Crossways in 2021 as a receptionist in Storrington.
Outside of work Sally enjoys walking her Cockapoo (Willow), playing netball and watching her boys play basketball and football.

I've loved animals since I was small and did an animal management course at Brinsbury College and then went on to work at an RSPCA rehoming centre for two years. I soon realised my dream was to work in a veterinary environment so worked as a Nursing Assistant at a busy animal hospital for a year before joining Crossways.
I have a real love for all animals, especially rabbits.

Sian began her nursing career at Crossways in 2004.
As Head Nurse, Sian oversees the nursing team with Laura and has extra procedural administration duties within the practice.
Sian gained her Pet Health Counsellor award in 2018 and holds regular nurse clinics including arthritis and behaviour clinics.
Outside work, Sian regularly competes in agility and hoopers with her 3 dogs Rio, Buddy and Mishka. She also enjoys riding her horses in the beautiful Sussex countryside.

Having previously worked as a Practice Manager in a doctors surgery following a long career in the finance service industry, we are delighted to have Tim on board. He brings with him a great deal of experience that will ensure we continue to provide the highest levels of service for our clients and patients.
Tim lives in Storrington and will be known to many, having previously been chairman of the Storrington Vipers Youth Football Club and chairman of Governors at Storrington First School. He enjoys sport of any kinds and has completed 4 half marathons and the London Marathon many years ago.
