David Zuckerbraun - VP

Prior to joining Essex Trust, David served as Vice President, Senior Fiduciary Officer of a regional trust and wealth management firm. In his position he was responsible for the management of large and complex trust relationships, the settlement of complex estates and the management of departmental risk through document review, litigation oversight and the development of fiduciary policies and procedures to be carried out by trust administration staff. David is a member of the Connecticut, District of Columbia and New London County Bar Associations. Before his trust and wealth management career, David was engaged in private legal practice for more than 10 years. He holds a B.A. from Union College and a J.D. from the Syracuse University College of Law, where he served as Notes and Comments Editor of the Syracuse Journal of International Law and Commerce. David is the past president of both the Estate and Tax Planning Council of Eastern Connecticut and the Rhode Island Estate Planning Council. He has also served as president of the Lyman Allyn Art Museum, treasurer of the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, treasurer of the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra, vice president of the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center, and chairman of the Distribution Committee of the James and Mary Shea Foundation.

Attorney Moira Bessette Martin is currently Senior Vice President and Senior Trust Officer at Essex Trust. Prior to joining Essex Trust in 2008, Attorney Martin served in a similar capacity for a large national bank's private wealth management division. Before working in bank trust administration, Ms. Martin was in the private practice of law for several years in Connecticut and New York with an emphasis on domestic and international estate planning for wealthy individuals, charitable giving techniques and charitable entities formation and ongoing compliance.
