We provide opportunity to DeWitt County individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities to work toward independence and self-sufficiency, improve quality of life, and the individuals overall level of functioning... DCHRC began in the late 1970s as a provider of mental health services in DeWitt County. In the 1980s a parent group formed and began advocating for their children. One result was for DCHRC to begin providing Day Services for those that lived in a local group home in 1988... It is our mission to provide education and training in community, vocational, language, leisure, cultural, domestic, and social skills to adults with developmental/intellectual disabilities. We will support those we serve by acting as an advocate in the community and providing them with compassion, acceptance, and respect.
