Sherry A. Milton

Sherry Milton acts are President and CEO of our firm, more about her can be found below... As part of a successful career Health Information Management Consulting she joined New American Health Care Corporation, as a nationwide HIM Corporate Manager. Her responsibilities included HIM Operations, Coding, Compliance/DRG Validation and Case Management. In 1995 Milton founded Milton & Associates and currently serves as President/CEO of the Company. Milton & Associates provides DRG Integrity by providing DRG Validation, Revenue integrity functions, Clinical Documentation Specialty Training/transition and turn-key HIM Departmental Analysis. Tertiary Care Facilities as well as small rural hospitals are serviced across the nation by Milton & Associates Consulting. As a results of her consulting practices, Milton and her staff have been able to provide appropriate reimbursement for services provided via DRG Validation, enhance Severity of Illness (SI) and Intensity of Service (IS) scores and maintain minimal RAC review/denial rates. She has bridged Documentation Specialist and Coders to become a team in the DRG Assignment process. Out- patient coding has been integrated with Revenue Integrity to provide clean-claim submission and maintain appropriate reimbursement for out-patient services. Finally, Turn-Key HIM Consulting has provided transition to an Electronic record with minimal interruption and appropriate staffing. Milton is affiliated with American Health Information Management Association and Tennessee Health Information Management Association Sherry A. Milton was born in Erin, Tennessee, and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1986 from Stephens College, Columbia, Missouri in Health Information Management. She has certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA). Milton began her career with Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) at Trinity Hospital in Erin, Tennessee as a clerk in Medical records and after certification became Director of Medical Records. In 1991 after Trinity spin-off to Health Trust Inc. she was promoted to Regional Coding Consultant for the Tennessee/Kentucky Region where she was responsible for DRG Validation, coder training, documentation in-services for Medical staffs and HIM departmental evaluations. She developed a Centralized coding department for the region and was awarded the BIS Strategic Decisions 1995 BIS Excellence Gold Award for Production Imaging, Small Systems.
