As a nongovernmental organization the Society fights for the rights and interests of people with intellectual disabilities and their families in the region... People with intellectual disabilities are equal citizens of the country. They have the same rights to be part of the society, regardless of the degree of the disability. People with intellectual disabilities have many talents and abilities but together with these they have some specific needs too. They need to have the right to choose services supporting their needs... The policy of the RSSPID - Vidin is governed by three basic principles: human rights, inclusion in society and nondiscrimination.
