I joined the Academy Committee at the end of July 2017, after being elected as Thomas Deacon Foundation representative to the Academy. I have also been a Governor at Gladstone Primary Academy since it joined TDET in February 2017.
I wanted to join the Academy Committee to be able to share my experiences of working within the charity sector for over 20 years in a variety of roles. I have worked in the tourism, health and social care sectors. That has included involvement in an area-based curriculum as well as leading learning workshops, supporting young carers and their families, supporting transitional change, ensuring compliance and enabling quality improvement.

My role is to ensure you feel fully supported with your Sixth Form studies during your time here with us at TDA by helping you to shape your character to thrive as a global citizen. I work closely with the Sixth Form Attendance & Wellbeing Officer and the Student Support Officer to ensure your time here is as productive as possible. Alongside a team of dedicated tutors, and a comprehensive personal development curriculum, we aim to develop key characteristics and provide you with life skills. We are concerned about the holistic wellbeing of each individual student, prioritising your mental and physical wellbeing and providing the key link between school and home, if necessary, to guide you and help you prepare for a successful future.
