Amy Low

Amy previously worked as an associate at MinterEllison in commercial arbitration and dispute resolution, primarily acting for private and government owned corporations in the energy, resources and infrastructure sectors, as a solicitor at Holding Redlich Lawyers and as an associate to the Honourable Justice G Martin AM of the Supreme Court of Queensland.

Anastasia Nicholas

Anastasia was junior counsel assisting the Queensland Health Payroll Commission of Inquiry. She represented parties in the Barrett Adolescent Centre Commission of Inquiry, the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry and the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety. She represented the Commonwealth of Australia in the Royal Commission into the Robodebt Scheme.

Avelina Tarrago

In February 2020, Avelina was appointed as a part-time Legal Member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal. In May 2023, Avelina was appointed to the Board of Legal Aid Queensland. In July 2024, Avelina was appointed as a Commissioner of the Queensland Law Reform Commission.

Edmund Robinson

Edmund Robinson has a general practice with a focus on commercial disputes. He has acted for clients including ASIC, Ford Motor Company, major banks, the State of Queensland, and the liquidators, administrators or receivers of various entities including The Presbyterian Church of Queensland. He acted for global engineering and construction giant, Fluor Corporation, and its Australian subsidiary, in a 5-month trial in respect of Santos Limited's claim to recover approximately $1.5 billion. He also appeared in a 3-month trial in the Supreme Court of Queensland regarding the collapse of Queensland Nickel Pty Ltd. Before being called to the Bar Edmund was a commercial litigation solicitor for over six years. He commenced his career at Allens where he practised general commercial litigation, including insolvency litigation. Subsequently, he was a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution team at Johnson Winter & Slattery Lawyers. Edmund has been a guest lecturer at The University of Queensland in the LLM subjects ‘Corporate Financial Law' and ‘Corporate Insolvency Law'. He is a sessional academic at Griffith University and formerly a reporter for the Queensland Law Reports. He is a member of the Bar Association of Queensland's Business and Consumer Law Committee. Edmund is also a volunteer at the Caxton Legal Centre and undertakes pro bono matters.

James Hughes

James Hughes has a general commercial practice. James was previously a Senior Associate at Allens where he specialised in commercial litigation and insolvency, acting for a wide range of corporate and government clients. Having practised as a solicitor since 2006, he has substantial experience in commercial disputes and litigation in a broad variety of areas including banking, securities enforcement, insolvency and debt recovery, and leasing, construction, planning, property, and mining disputes. James has appeared in commercial matters both led and unled in all Queensland Courts and the Federal Court of Australia. James has a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours and was awarded the University Medal for Law (Griffith University, 2005).
