This is the home page for A.E. Jaques, a philosophy PhD student at MIT... I'm currently a Senior Researcher at MIT, where I founded and direct the Ethical Computing Platform. I was previously an Interdisciplinary Research Fellow at Stanford, and I have also worked at Apple. My research focuses on what we should do about technology, especially artificial intelligence. I've also worked on several projects aimed at rethinking the way ethics is taught to engineers. At the moment, I am writing a book about how to understand and manage the social impacts of AI. My PhD is from MIT.
