Almar Optical joined the Laurier Avenue neighborhood back in 1972 as a local optical shop. The owner Melvin Taller provided designer eyewear and premium lens technology to Ottawa's downtown professionals for forty years. In 2012 Melvin chose to retire and Don McCooeye continued to provide quality eye wear for his clients for two short years. In 2014 Drs. Danielle Frigault and Carolyn Fyffe chose to continue Melvin's legacy and became the new owners of UrbanEyes. We are now a full service bilingual eye health Clinic offering comprehensive eye exams and contact lens fits by a Doctor of Optometry. We believe in top quality service, product, and choose to carry a unique and large array of spectacle frames.
