C. Thomas Dixon

Mr. Thom Dixon owned and operated Carolina Sweepers in Cary. He is also an architect with over 25 years of experience in construction. Mr. Dixon is a member of Summit Church at Brier Creek where he is a small group leader. He has served on the Board of Directors for Small Town Downtown Redevelopment for NC, as well as the American Institute of Architects and the Civitan Club. Mr. Dixon and his wife, Sue, are parents of 2016 alumna, Sally Dixon.

Caroline Brown

Caroline Brown is a former teacher for Union County Public Schools. She has previous board experience at Wingate, having formerly served on the Board of Visitors and the Friends of the Library Board. Caroline is very involved in the City of Monroe's development efforts; she and her husband, Ron Brown, co-chaired the campaign to fund the revitalization of the Dowd Center Theatre and the construction of the Monroe Science Center. She has also served on Monroe's Downtown Advisory Board and Turning Point's Board of Directors. Caroline's husband, Ron, is the President of State Utility Contractors, Inc. in Monroe, NC. They have two children, Victoria Anne and Seth.

In 2012 he received the Lexington Distinguished Citizen Award. He has been active and has led numerous civic and nonprofit organizations. Mr. Cagle enjoys outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, and playing tennis. Frank and his wife, Nancy, are members of First United Methodist Church. She joined the Foundation in 2016 as a Program Officer for higher education grants. Prior to the Foundation, Suzanne worked at Wingate University in Alumni Affairs and Marketing. Suzanne earned both her undergraduate and MBA degrees from Wingate University. She is a lifelong member of Wingate Baptist Church, where she has served as a deacon and is currently co-chair of the Family Life Committee. Suzanne also serves on the Advisory Committee of the NC Network of Grant Makers. She and her husband have two daughters, Aubrey and Maura.

Wayne P. Cooper

Mr. Wayne Cooper, the Honorary Consul to Mexico, works in international trade in Charlotte, NC. During his career, Wayne received the Order of the Aztec Eagle in Mexico, equivalent to the U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Order of the Long Leaf Pine in North Carolina, and the Lifetime Achievement Award as part of the 2016 Excellence in International Trade Awards.

William T. Crowder

Mr. Bill Crowder is Executive VP of Crowder Construction and a Wingate alumnus. Bill has a longtime commitment to, and interest in, Alexander Youth Network. Mr. Crowder is also involved with Memory and Movement of Charlotte. Mr. Crowder is a recipient of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, North Carolina's highest civilian honor, as well a member of the Alumni Hall of Fame at UNC-Charlotte. He and his wife, Pam, attend Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Mint Hill where he is an elder.
