Originally form Honduras, Abraham joined JLS in 2005 and is one of our many masonry and planting experts. In his free-time, he loves music and dancing.
The landscape designer, Pat, created a beautiful design for our front and side gardens, that is deer proof and will give us color all year round.The installation team did a great job and didn't leave a mess
Ana has been working for JLS in maintenance for 4 years, and is our first female foreman. She leads an all-female crew. She is detail oriented and a leader in the field. In her free time, she likes do to crafts with resin or paper.
Took the time to listen to our preferences, came up with a good design, and did an excellent job prepping, planting and pruning my updated landscaping.
We have used Johnson's Landscaping since 2017. They have built winding retention walls for us, created stone pathways, installed extensive drainage remedies to help with water mitigation, and planned and installed lovely plantings. All the work was superb. The workers are consummate professionals, including their expert stone masons. I highly recommend the company.

We have worked with Johnson's landscaping on several projects now and each time has been a great experience. We started with the front and side yard. And just this month we asked them to do the backyard so that we can have a nice setting for our daughter's small outdoor wedding.After years of not knowing what to do with some difficult spaces because of deer, erosion, and a lot of shade, we found Johnson's. They came up with a beautiful design, using deer resistant plants, creative landscaping, and even solved our drainage and erosion problems. We could not be happier with the results. We are spending more and more time outside enjoying our beautiful front, side and backyards. We know we'll enjoy the landscaping for years to come. And, Johnson's knew our deadline and we're ready for our daughter's wedding with time to spare!

Cesar is a seasoned Foreman with over 13 years of experience at JLS. He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role, specializing in planting, drainage, maintenance, and construction.
Had them do some patio work, plant trees, and do some drainage work. They were flexible given we changed our plans for the original work and they were responsive, picking up the phone and returning phone calls, emails, etc. They were on time, did quality work, and cleaned up. Great experience, overall.
Daniel is an expert in masonry, planting and drainage. A huge soccer fan, Daniel loves to spend his free-time with his kids.
An expert in landscaping and maintenance, David has been at JLS for seven years now. Soccer is his passion.
Johnson's maintains our lawn bi-weekly and do scheduled maintenance of our yard. They've also just completed planting new landscape plants. Each job they do I inspect, and on many occasions have been impressed with little things that they attend to that previous landscapers didn't bother doing. They adhere to the old school ethic to "do a little more than is expected."
This is the second major project we've hired Johnson's to complete on our property. The designer listened to our concerns and developed a plan that fit our needs. The installation of our new landscaping was done professionally. The crew was great and left our yard in perfect condition. We have gotten so many compliments from our neighbors on the beautiful work done by Johnson's. We can't wait to see it in full bloom in Spring!
Over the years, we have used Johnson's landscaping and Jamie Newell for a number of projects, including landscape design, planting, Pennsylvania blue stone steps and patios, dry stacked stone walls, a fence and drainage projects. We have always been very impressed by the quality of the design, plants, and workmanship. Jamie always listened to our ideas and then developed beautiful plans. Everyone working on each project has done far more than I expected to ensure that the finished job was excellent.
We enjoyed Johnson's help with designing new front plantings for us. Then their team implemented the plan and did ground prep and planting. We're very pleased with the results.
When I sought to redesign my backyard, I called three landscaping companies. The estimate from Johnson's Landscaping was nearly half the other two companies-and I feel Johnson's was twice as skilled. Their designer Jamie, along with fellow designer Lillian, finessed my ideas into an elegant and functional retreat. Jamie's knowledge of the local flora, combined with his aesthetic sensibilities, were invaluable-as was his on-site assistance throughout the process. And Johnson's crews, led by Jorge and Pedro, were quick, skilled, and friendly. Jorge and Pedro are expert masons, and I couldn't be happier with the result. In fact, my backyard came out so well, I'm already planning to use Johnson's to redesign the front.
Matt was very responsive and easy to work with. His team was professional, on time, and happy to answer questions and discuss change requests. The finished product looks great as well!
Joe is very excited to be a part of Johnson's Landscaping Service, Inc. sales team, as well as being in the field. He brings with him over 30 years of field experience. Joe attended Pennsylvania State University and received a degree in Horticulture Nursery Management. He loves working with clients in all aspects of the Landscaping Industry.
Joe has worked in residential and commercial design in the D.C. metro region since graduating with a degree in Landscape Architecture from Ball State University in 2009. Before starting at Johnson's, he worked as the sole designer for a small design-build firm in Northern Virginia. As a designer, he loves combining all of the various elements that make up a landscape to create a perfect space for a family to enjoy. He has experience designing patios, walkways, retaining walls, water features and gardens.
A true asset to JLS for decades, Jorge is a great foreman. Originally from Mexico, he's an expert in masonry and planting.
Jorge, originally from El Salvador, has been employed with JLS for the past 8 years. Initially he worked in planting, but now is head of our Patio Rehab division.
Originally from El Salvador, Jose has been working for JLS for the past 10 years as our head mechanic. He also has experience in landscape maintenance and is part of our snow removal crew.
Had a great experience with all the staff from the designer to the crew that put in the garden.
Lillian earned her degree in Horticulture from the University of Maryland, and she has over twelve years' experience in design. Her extensive background allows her to offer her clients a wide-range of design styles, from the small and intimate, to the grand and formal. She also likes to use native plants to support the environment and local wildlife. Lillian enjoys the challenge and artistry that each new project demands. She particularly likes to explore the dynamic pairing of beautiful and fun plants with the cool, enduring materials of wood and stone. Her ultimate goal is to create outdoor spaces that are functional, beautiful, and unique for each of her clients.

Maggie Claure is our Office Manager/HR. She has been with JLS since 2020 and has worked in customer service for the last 10 years. Originally from Olney, MD, Maggie enjoys traveling and spending time with her child.
I've been a Johnson's Landscaping customer for 15 years. Johnson's has designed and installed my front and back gardens, path and tree lighting, a paved driveway, front path and front door porch. They've also done my lawn and garden maintenance as well as snow removal. Update May 2022 - Johnson Landscape updated some of the plantings due to an unfortunate issue that destroyed some mature bushes. They also maintain our lawn with weekly mowing, weed pulling and spring and fall clean up. In addition, they were kind enough to provide a referral for mosquito spraying company. A special thank you to Jamie Newell, who designed and oversaw the 2017 revamp and continues to help with more recent issues related to new/replacement plantings.In winter 2017 Johnson landscape overhauled our front and backyard. Adding retaining wall new plantings as well as sprinklers, French drains and lighting. It's so much more useable and beautiful. They maintain our lawn now and we are pleased with their staff. They are thorough and professional.
Originally from Mexico, Nestor has been working with JLS for 4 years as a foreman and specializes in planting. He enjoys going to the movies in his free time.
Excellent stone masons used beautiful slate and Belgian limestone - really good work on my stoop and front steps. They also installed LED lights and created a small pea gravel patio. The lead designer Jamie Newell provided experienced insights, communicated with me through for the project and helped to see through the execution with several onsite visits. Highly recommend your company and craftsmanship with excellent customer service.
We have used Johnson's Landscaping Service for complete landscaping design & installation projects at every house we've owned. We've worked with Jamie Newell as our landscape designer. Thom was born and raised in the DC area, and has been involved with plants and lawn care most of his life, becoming an expert on trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals and weed identification. After many years working for Johnson's Flower and Garden Centers and Site One Landscape Supply, Thom is excited to lend his expertise and grow professionally at Johnson's Landscaping. Presently, Thom is a certified professional horticulturist. In his free time loves watching soccer and spending time with his family.

Jamie at Johnson landscaping helped us with a plan to redo the front entryway and porch steps. We reused much of the stone and replaced for better top stones of the steps of the porch stairs. The masonry staff was excellent. They quality of the work was good and the crew was clean and efficient.
