The practice rose into prominence in the late 1980s when successfully represented, before the Court of Athens as well as before the Supreme Court, the Bank of Crete then under the Special Administratior appointed by the Bank of Greece, against the former banker and publisher George Koskotas who had spearheaded a major financial corruption scandal.
