Amar Radia

Amar is a Cambridge mathematician, Harvard Business School alumni and Chartered Accountant who worked in the City for 10 years. In 2007, he left to become an entrepreneur and has since founded, grown and sold brands across various sectors, including Dishoom. He has experience in business strategy, financial management and building customer-centric brands. Amar has been a kidney patient for the past 27 years, having been diagnosed with end stage renal failure as a teenager and managed work, study, travel and family life while on haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and a short period as a transplant patient. He aims to use his first-hand experience to raise patient health needs. Amar has been involved in dialysis orientation talks for new patients and mentoring young adults on dialysis.

Angela Griffiths

Angela was for many years a partner in a City law firm specialising in employment and media law where she also had a significant business development role. She subsequently specialised in business development for Barristers' Chambers. She is currently an Ambassador for Corporate Engagement for Middlesex University which involves networking and building relationships with businesses for the benefit of the University and its students. She has a particular interest in diversity and social mobility.

Graham Lipkin

Graham is Consultant Nephrologist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham with clinical interests in kidney transplantation, rare causes of kidney disease and kidney disease in pregnancy. He is immediate Past President of the Renal Association and now a Trustee of the UK Kidney Association having been Clinical Vice President. He is President of the QEH Kidney Patients Association and Chair of Metchley Park Medical Society. Passionate about improving service delivery, Graham is also National Renal Co-Lead for Getting it Right First Time and co-authored the Renal GIRFT National Report which is accepted as the blueprint for service improvement by NHSE Renal Services Transformation Programme. Graham was a founder member of the Kidney Quality Improvement Partnership.

Gráinne Walsh

Gráinne is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner at Evelina London Children's Hospital. Her clinical interests include young adult health; she has collaborated with colleagues nationally and internationally, working to improve care of young transplant recipients. Gráinne's research interests include the impact of transplantation on families & treatment adherence. She is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in the University of Cape Town, working with Nursing Masters students. Gráinne was previously Director of the International Transplant Nurses Society, has sat on Committees of the International Paediatric Transplant Association and is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Kidney Care. She is joint team manager of the Evelina London VIPs and has been to every Transplant Games since 1996.

Henry Brown

Henry is a Consultant Nephrologist at the Belfast City Hospital with a clinical interest in transplantation. He has previously worked as Clinical Director and Chair of Division where he had a particular focus on service development and patient safety. Prior to his present post he was a Consultant Nephrologist at Antrim Hospital where he established the Renal Unit. Henry has been a member of the Renal Association (now UKKA) Executive and Vice Chair of the Clinical Services Subcommittee. He has had a long association with Transplant Sports. Henry has extensive experience in governance outside of his work, currently serving as Chair of the Board of Trustees of ScoutsNI and of a local charity working with people with mental health problems and learning difficulties.

Lewis Temple

Lewis has worked in international development for over 25 years, and has had leadership roles living and working in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Africa. He currently works as the Chief Executive of the global poverty eradication charity BRAC UK. Lewis has lived with kidney failure for over 30 years. In that time he has had two kidney transplants and experienced most forms of dialysis, including two years on peritoneal dialysis and three years on nocturnal haemodialysis at home. He had his latest transplant at Guy's Hospital in 2021. Lewis is passionate about promoting the health and wellbeing benefits of home-based self-care for dialysis patients.

Michael B. Zelouf

Mike has a career in institutional global asset management spanning over 34 years. He is the managing director for the UK subsidiary of Western Asset Management, a firm he joined in 1996 as international chief investment officer. Mike actively engages with clients on investment solutions and advises on key drivers of the investment management industry and regulatory trends. He is passionate about sustainable investing and actively involved in developing best practice in ESG investment integration. Since 2014, Mike has also chaired the FTSE Fixed Income advisory committee which oversees and advises on the operation of FTSE's bond indices.

Richard Caldwell

Richard has been with Danske Bank, Northern Ireland's largest bank, for 24 years. Following a range of front line roles and senior positions in personal banking and business banking, he became part of the Executive Team in 2015. Richard is now the bank's Managing Director, Strategy and Commercial Development, responsible for the bank's strategic direction and implementation. Richard has wide range of banking experience including governance, financial management and all aspects of customer service. Richard has been a patient of Belfast City Hospital's Renal Unit for over 35 years and received his second kidney transplant in 2011 from a living family donor.

Rob Lant

Rob is a partner in a large professional services firm specialising in tax (including tax audit) and mergers & acquisitions, and advises clients in the financial services sector. In his 24 years with his firm Rob has held leadership roles in the tax and deal advisory practices and is a member of the insurance leadership team. Rob has a range of experience including business strategy, practice leadership, and relationship, operational and people management. He is a member of Chartered Institute of Taxation and an Affiliate member of Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. Rob has been a kidney patient with Guys Hospital for 15 years; he was diagnosed with CKD in his late twenties and received a living donor transplant in 2008 following a period on peritoneal dialysis.

Sally Hulton

Sally has been working as a Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist at Birmingham Women's & Children's Hospital since 1995, having completed her doctorate on research conducted at the Institute of Child Health in London and Great Ormond Street Hospital. She has pioneered research and treatment in rare inherited kidney disorders, particularly those needing both combined liver kidney transplantation. Sally has served on many national committees for the Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health and more recently acted as Vice President of the Renal Association and President of the British Association for Paediatric Nephrology from 2018 to 2021. She has a particular interest in medical ethics and served as an expert member of her hospital Ethics Committee for 12 years.

Sarah Hillary
