Timothy Loughlin

Timothy Loughlin is the senior partner at SW7 Consulting. He is a senior executive with over 30 years of experience providing advisory, asset acquisition and integration services, sales and organizational management for both start-up and global financial services institutions. He has broad operating experience in both domestic and international markets as well as a deep understanding of credit, risk management and capital markets along with excellent forecasting and financial planning skills. Over the course of his career, Timothy co-founded and launched a series of profitable commercial finance platforms specializing in structured finance, asset-based lending and factoring. He has also managed the successful acquisition and integration of several merchant banking transactions, including a $2BN purchase while at Merrill Lynch & Co. During the last eight years, Mr. Loughlin was a Co-Founder, COO and head of originations for a commercial finance company. As Co-Founder, he conceptualized and created the original business plan, developed investor presentations and raised third party debt and equity to support the firm. This business was sold in 4Q 2017. Prior to starting that platform, he was a Managing Director in the Global Asset Based Finance Group at Merrill Lynch from 1995 to 2009. From 2005 to 2009, he worked in the Structured Finance group, and shared responsibility for strategic investments in the US for Merrill Lynch's consumer asset platform, and was a senior executive at two Merrill Lynch consumer finance companies. Prior to that, he spent five years in London as the Head of Global Asset Based Finance for Europe where he started the business from inception. While managing the Global Asset Based Finance team in London, Merrill Lynch committed more than $12 billion in secured lending facilities and acted as lead manager on more than $7 billion of asset-backed securities to the commercial and consumer finance industries. Prior to that, he was a senior member of the Global Asset Based Finance group in New York, providing secured financing and strategic investments to the commercial and consumer finance markets. Before joining Merrill Lynch, Mr. started his career in the Management Training program at PNC Bank and later joined Westpac Bank as a Vice President in the International Structured Finance group. During his professional career, Timothy has advised family, friends, friends of friend and others on their business issues. Continued professional recommendations resulted in the formation of SW7 Consulting and a formal platform to help small businesses with their challenges.
