Dr Anina Fitzgibbon has been working as a specialist dermatologist since 2005. Her specialist degree in dermatology and allergology, as well as her PhD on the effects of smoking on skin, were completed in Finland in 2005. She moved to Australia in 2007, became a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 2008, and has been living and working in Melbourne since then.
Dr Fitzgibbon has been an important member of the dermatology team at East Malvern Dermatology since opening in 2013.
Dr Fitzgibbon has extensive experience in clinical and scientific work and has worked in both public and private dermatology clinics over many years including the following hospitals in Melbourne: the Royal Melbourne Hospital, the Victorian Melanoma Service at the Alfred Hospital, and St Vincent's Hospital. Currently she works in private practice, and at the Skin Health Institute patch testing clinic in which contact allergies are investigated. She has a keen interest in all aspects of medical dermatology and discusses treatment options for cosmetic concerns also. She has years of experience with vascular lasers and uses the Excel V + laser at East Malvern Dermatology.
Dr Anina Fitzgibbon completed her medical degree in Finland in 1997. She became a Specialist in Dermatology and Allergology in 2005, as well as completing a PhD in the field of Dermatology.
Dr Matheen Mohamed graduated MBBS (Hons) from Monash University in 1993. He earned his specialist qualification in dermatology (FACD) in 2001 and a Master of Public Health (MPH) at Monash in 2005.
Dr Mohamed also works part time at St Vincent's Hospital, Fitzroy and the Biologics & Phototherapy Clinic at the Skin Health Institute, Carlton.
During his training, Dr Mohamed has worked in the following major teaching hospitals: Western Infirmary, Glasgow, The Royal Melbourne Hospital, St Vincent's Hospital, Skin Health Institute and the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne. In addition, Dr Mohamed has previously worked at the Melanoma Clinic at the Alfred Hospital and the Skin Health Institute.
